Hopefully we have between us got this sorted for Alan but your last find Maddie seems about right. specially as Joseph might well have been named after his father, on 1851 Joseph is not shown as a son

Have to admit that sounds better than the Lambeth family as they seem to be in that area later , so I hope the Lambeth family is dispenced with, BUT Mary Hodge on 1851 is aged 44 years old, she had aged 20 years in 10


I think a marriage cert would be a good idea

I am now beginning to wonder as I have found a baptism of
Elizabeth Pearce, (11 months on 1841)
St Mary Lambeth
July 1840
address New St Lambeth (same address as 1841)
parents Thomas and Mary Ann

This child belongs to the 1841 family

Are we looking at 2 different families here I wonder, or is it coincidence

I was half right there then but I was looking for Pearson, but it was mentioned before she was Mary Ann Clarke, I had a feeling because she was 44 on the 1851 she was a little to old to have had her first child, perhaps, then of course Joseph Pearse/ Pearce

I did find
Thomas Pearse aged 41
 Mary aged 37
Joseph aged 5
Elizabeth 11 months
But Rosie found a marriage in 1840 so perhaps this is nothing to do with them

Mary could well have married prior to 1837

I did look for a baptism for Joseph Pearson but no luck with mother as Mary Ann or D of B circa 1835

What about 1841?, , what about an address for a birth nearer to 1841

I am not sure if I have the right family but on 1851 there is a
John Hodge aged 38 born Devon
 Mary Ann 44 born Pancras,
Mary Ann 9,  plus other siblings, inc Phoebe
considering that Mary Ann was aged 44 and her oldest child  was aged 9 do you think there might have been a previous marriage, there is also Joseph Pearson listed in same address aged 16, nothing shown as to what relationship he is to John and Mary Ann, was he Mary Ann's son?

So far can't find a marriage which makes me wonder if they were in fact married
