Gloucestershire / Miss Annie Waters, The Shaws, Lea Bailey
« on: Sunday 23 April 17 18:21 BST (UK)  »
Hello  :)

I wonder if anyone remembers Annie Waters of Lea Bailey please?  She died in 1954 in Ross so appreciate a long time ago.  Her brother, David, was in Ross Public Assistance Institution for a reason we don't know and his wife, Alice, has taken to the grave.  Alice was my great grandmother and was living on her own in Ross while he went from one institution to another....  This is my last ditch attempt to find out why he was kicked out by Alice.  Annie was named as his next of kin on institution admission records for him, not Alice his wife  ???

Thanks in anticipation

Dear Both

Sometimes you have to look outside of the box!  I just assumed a marriage in Much Marcle or Little Dewchurch.  I should know by now that in this game you never assume anything!

Thank you so much as I've now found out the name of their father's too!  One very happy lady!

Thank you once again for taking the time to help me😁😁

Herefordshire / Where is their marriage record?
« on: Tuesday 14 March 17 19:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I have a Brown family living in Much Marcle in the 1840s-50's. I've found lots out about them including their births and deaths and those of their children -  but no marriage record for them either in Much Marcle, Yatton or Little Dewchurch.

William Brown, born 1818 in Yatton and his wife Hannah Brown born in 1820 in Little Dewchurch.  Hannah was a Cobburn before she married and I can find her family living in Little Dewchurch.  I can find their children's births and christenings in Much Marcle/Yatton.  First child, Eliza was born in 1849(my great great grandmother).

I'd love to find their marriage record or perhaps they weren't married but she took his name?😶

Thank you in advance for any help with this!

I am looking for a William Humphries who died in South Cerney in 1887 aged approx 48 guessing he'll be registered in Cirencester?

Kind regards

Hello Capetown

Thanks so much for your help with this!  It's a case of knowing where to look so that's been most helpful.  I guess to find Annie then I need to look somewhere else?

Best wishes

Sophie

Hello

Following on from a successful ask for a burial place for an ancestor, Kathleen Horton I wonder if I could ask again for her three half sisters?!

They were Joan I M Smart in June 1929, Iris Smart in Dec 1931 and Annie Smart in March 1940.  All also died in babyhood in Gloucestershire.  They are not buried with their sister in Drybrook from what I can see.

Their mother successfully had two boys but was not able to have healthy girls, has anyone heard of this before?

Kind regards

Sophie
