Hi All
I would really appreciate some help on finding a death certificate for Jane Pitt (Porter).
She is buried at the old Longford Christ Church (Longford) Pioneer Lot rg Row 43with her husband Thomas Pitt, I have her Birth (1831) and Marriage(1848) certificates/records.
While Im here I am also after the a records of marriage and death for her mother Elizabeth Murphy(b:1804 D: circa 1847-1854)to her first husband Alexander Mckenzie (b:1771 D:1819) They married in Launcestaun Tasmania and the only note I have is a small notice in the "Hobart Gazette" that they married she was 14 he was 48.
Elizabeth Murphy married 3 times Alexander Mckenzie 1818, John William Porter 1822 and William Hughes in 1837. Not much comes up about MAry Hughes if I search, but I have found some information she might have moved to South Australia.
Elizabeth Murphy is the daughter of Michael Murphy a first fleeter and Marine who sailed on the HMS Sirius 1788.
Any help would be great and any info needed by anyone I will happily supply.
thanks

Wow
You guys have done an amazing job, I have to admit its taking me a while to take it all in, a lot of reading and re reading. Im doing my best to verify Samuels credentials , I can tell you that most of my dads family came from around the Longford/Cressy/Campbell town area of Tasmania. Is there any more info that I could give you that might help.
Thank you once again for your help.
Aaron

Hi Deb and Peter
Thanks for your wonderful work, so let me get this right.
Sarah Newton is actually Sally Newton - is there a reasonable answer to this, there is so many records showing "Sarah".
She was transported in 1823 but was charged again and sentenced in 1833

As for Samuel Wright having been born in Tasmania I cannot say apart from having his daughters birth registration details (Lydia Priscilla Wright) where he is named, your detective work seems to say that John and Sarah Wright are his parents and both were convicts. The news paper article you sent me a link for seems to be for the Sydney Herald rather than a paper from Tassie.
A real turn up about the orphan statis but not overall surprising.

Finally, was there any mention about burial records of John and Sarah

Thank you very much for your help
Aaron

Hi All
Before I start here is the info I have
Samuel Wright B: Sep 22 1827 Hobart, Tasmania
                      M: Mar 1 1854 Launceston Tasmania to  Anne Chilcott (B:Jan 1 1834 D:Jul 1861)
                      M: 1862 Margarete Grieg ( B: 1842 D:Apr 19 1895)
D: Dec 5 1894 Longford Tasmania, Longford Methodist Cemetery row 3 lot 9

His relationship to me is GGG Grandfather, Father of Lydia Priscilla Pitt  (Wright) who married Thomas Pitt.

I have Head stone photo's, Baptism records and marriage certificates as well for each of the above.
I am after  Samuel Wrights Parents, I believe they were:

Mother :Sarah Wright (Newton)
Father : James or John Wright

On Samuels Birth record it lists his parents as James and Sarah Wright
On Samuel and Annes Marriage record there is a John Wright as a witness
I have found a marriage licence of a  John Wright and a Sarah Newton for the 10th April 1826.They mention them as convicts but I cant seem to find any record. I have also had a good hunt around a few other web sites and that is confusing me even more, there is a mention of a Samuel Wright and a Anne Tolan being married but this is just making the waters even muddier again. Please am I on the right track or am I barking up the wrong tree.
Please help me!!!!!!

Hi All
Have been searching high and low a burial site for Albert Hilton Beaumont 1902 - 1971, he was married to Una May Pitt 1898 - 1943. I know he died in Brisbane Qld. at a bowls club. That all so far.
Any help on his children and their partners or his two other wives Renee? and Edna? would be great.
Thanks

Here is a article/link  for Ellen Marshalls (Pitt) death/funeral in 1943 it mentions 2 chief mourners in Thomas Pitt(1852-1944) and Richard Pitt (brothers).
Could anyone shed some light on this, I thought his brother Richard died in 1857 as a baby or is this just not true.
Please help
