Anglesey / Re: Drowning off South Stack 1923

Richard's wife was known in the family as 'Talcy'.  The Probate identifies her as Alice.  There is a marriage to Alice Iddon in the marriage index, which took place at Preston 1912 which could be her.  I'm trying to narrow it down more precisely - there are a lot of Richard Seeds in Lancashire!

Thank you so much for the info - I had tried the newspaper archive, but thought it would be in the Welsh or Lancashire papers.
What a great result form my first posting!  i hope i can return the favour some day soon!

World War One / WW1 uniform cap badge
« on: Tuesday 02 September 14 19:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Trying to work out what this ancestor did in the war.  Can anyone suggest which regiment the cap badge shown in the photo (attached) is?  Or what the uniform is?  The photo is dated 1918.

Many thanks.

Anglesey / Drowning off South Stack 1923
« on: Tuesday 02 September 14 19:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
My ancestor Richard Seed b. 1884, from Preston Lancs,  was (apparently) drowned in a boating accident off South Stack, Anglesey, in July/August 1923. His body was found Aug 10 at Formby, and I believe it could have been washed up there?  I'm looking for any other info - perhaps newspaper reports?  The relevant newspapers would be in Welsh?
Also any info re the Preston Seed connection with Anglesey - I believe one, Matilda Seed, married a Richard Prichard there in the early 1900's.

Thanks for any help!
