Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / .WW1 Photos marked with stylus
« on: Wednesday 10 April 24 16:58 BST (UK)  »
I'm watching a program
Britain in Focus

The big about WW1 PHOTOGRAPHY was fascinating

I just saw explanation of a camera which had a shutter + pen so dates + places could be marked  stylus onto the negative

That must be a useful way of dating g photos

The photos of a woman called Emily Margaret Broome were very impressive . She was a commercial photographer..+ took a lot of group shots of soldiers

I wonder if anyone has any of her photos

United States of America / WORLEY of Kentucky
« on: Tuesday 09 April 24 22:20 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find out more about Isaac WORLEY 1804 -1869
+ his father Willis or Wiley WORLEY 1775 - 1824

Isaac was a farmer  born Arkansas wife Elizabeth b.Kentucky
With at least 11 children born Kentucky
Age range baby to 23 years on 1850 census

His 2nd wife was the girl next door Margery DAVIS + he had 3 more children with him

Father could be the Wiley WORLEY on 1820 census from whitely Kentucky
But if so his wife Dorcas B 1786 and daughter Abigail B 1810 are not on census with him as there is only one female listed as age 16-25
There are 2 males over 45
1 male age 26-44
2 males between 10 and 15
Which could be 1saac and Willis 1806
+ 3 males under 10 I'd like to find their names
If it's correct census

I'm interested in knowing if they would have been soldiers at any point

World War One / ALLOWANCE granted to Children : WW1
« on: Tuesday 30 January 24 19:10 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone help decipher what this means about allowance to children

Did this man have children from.1916 1919 or not ?

The sentence about disability is crossed out
+ ( he lost 2 fingers )
but the request for information about the children remains unanswered

Could men claim for children born illegitimately in France

I'm trying to work out which of 6 brothers fathered a child near Pas de Calais

The writing is really illegible and there are many pages

The Stay Safe Board / Diary weekending15th October
« on: Monday 09 October 23 12:53 BST (UK)  »
I've not posted for a while so it's quite strange to be the first one posting for this week.
last week I hibernated just in case I'd caught  covid on my visit to Newport .My foster daughter had it for six days .quite badly. I think this new strain is bad

in Leicester  there's a lot going around. I have friends who have had it so I am taking extra precautions.

I'm going to walk to city centre ...it's downhill all the way . I want to see if I can get council tax support as well as single person discount but find the language baffling and an terrified of pressing the wrong answer and being accused of fraud .

How hard it must be for anyone with dyslexia or a different native language. . So much redtape to follow to get assistance with every day living .

I've decided not to get a TV and save cost of a licence but I really wanted to watch DNA family secrets so had a binge TV watch at my sister's house after a lovely walk in local park on Saturday

Might be useful

We are now coming up to the era where people  descended from test tube babies could come up as DNA matches

Has anyone else had experience of this?.
My mother matched the child of an American sperm doner

this procedure has existed in UK since 1958

I Wonder if there was an age limit for men taking part . ?

& How many mother's thought their children would never learn about this .modern day DNA results could leave their children thinking that they were the result of an affair

The Stay Safe Board / Diary summary week ending 23rd july
« on: Monday 17 July 23 05:07 BST (UK)  »
Hello all
I'm awake ridiculously early .

No dawn chorus yet ... Why not ?

When I officially retire I'd like to learn bird songs and be able to identify some ot them.

Today I'm going to look at a flat...
the one that I'm in is really tiny. single bed  squeeze past shower & kitchen living room not much bigger than a double bed .

It's quite dark and maybe up for sale.
I've NOY been given notice but people with rooms in the hotel/house that is attached have been leaving and in April there were prospective buyers hovering around .Now there are builders in.

I'm waiting to be sent for an MRI  scan after April & June  dizzy spells .underlying condition vasovagal syncope will continue to be with me .ECG + blood tests all good so this is a precaution .it can take 3 months to get a MRI appointment. So it's hanging over me.

I have joined a writers  group on Facebook &  a whatssap & zoom motivational group   to return to the script about my long lost. Great gran who time travelled into the 21st century.!

I've got a lot of audio clips and videos but need to do a written version  before publication of a book  .
Originally it was to be radio episodes .

A bit too much going  on.
.not to mention premoting the use of Makaton sign language .
