The Common Room / Re: Infant deaths - include or exclude?

I have struggled with this off and on over the years - mostly stillborns and week olds

I dont think I have an exact answer , even for myself, but I am now entering them just to give clarity on gaps in births . When births have been happening regularly and then there is a gap of 5 years before resuming at similar regular intervals its good to know at least one reason why

I have recognised , and included, those babies who have died and their names recycled for other children so it gives me a greater understanding of the deeper family naming patterns

Its been a while but I'm sure FindmyPast has Bedfordshire records.

I accessed a shedload a few years ago when I found some spare coin in my pockets and got a subscription

You can also do a wide to narrow search by going directly to news sites ie Sydney Morning Herald Tributes

Or as an example go to Byron Bay

Could it be an International option?

I have just ordered a Digital Image and will search my piggy bank for more money and people to add images for

Thank you for the information

Ancestry have stopped any work in many of their spaces - even with the free help we all give them

Thrulines have stopped

linking to each parent stopped

Common ancestors even though I have linked tree after tree

Its just becoming a name register

Alice Robson 1797-1889

I had a minor brickwall and someone pointed out Richard Blackstone and Alice meeting and marrying as convicts in NSW. They had 1 son Charles and then Alice took up with a William Leith

Well my family link is Blacksell - cant be

Until I did a DNA test and one of the 1st five matches was linked to Alice Robson. A great great garnddaughter

So back to the story and Heddon On the Wall weebly history site has a tremendous amount of info on Alice

I will let them tell her story but the highlights are her standing up to infamous convict Matthew Brady when home only with her children

Standing up to the government authorites - to not only be with William Leith - but ensuring her daughter married who she wanted.

Her most famous exploit was walking - with babe in arm -  35 miles to join William - only to be returned back the same night - walking - this time with an iron collar attached.

She did it her way is a most apt epitath

Common here in Oz as well

I had a devil of a time trying to connect one of my sons side

The wife had a scandalous 1st marriage which ended in the courts etc

The couple got together and had 8 children all as married and under the fathers name - yet no marriage

It was only a random search interstate where I found a marriage of the 2 names - 34 years after the 1st child was born.
