Unfortunately I have no information on Albert at all, except CWGC.
I will get a birth certificate to confirm D.O.B and perhaps you will allow me to return to you,
and hopefully put it all to bed.
But thank you all once again, you really are an amazing bunch of people.

On the CWGC Debt of Honour Register,it states he died on 18th May 1944 aged 37.
If it helps his mothers maiden name was Wiley.

Good Afternoon one and all,

My wife’s uncle was killed in WW2 .
We have a lot of information about his war record and death in Japan.
We do not have any details of possible marriage, children etc.
His name was Albert Smith b 1908.
Where can I start to look.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

Good Afternoon one and all,

We are trying to find the whereabouts of a Mr Frank Richard Smith who was born in Nottingham in 1910.
Between 1955 and 1957 he and his wife Lillian ( Lily ) emigrated to Australia from Southampton onboard the SS New Australia.
I have searched several lists but to no avail.
Anybody help please 🙏

Hi Carole,
Thank you for your endeavour.
What I didn’t mention is that Alfred Hewitson was born Alfred Taylor.
He changed the family name after Annie got a divorce.
They actually got married in 1925 and changed there name back to Taylor.
But I digress.
I have a copy of his war pension record but couldn’t see anything regarding his wife.
