I see there is a place called Fidden in the same parish so I wonder if that's what's mentioned for Duncan?

I didn't know that posting records was permissible but if so, I have attached it in the hope someone can decipher it for me.

Thank you for this. I had opened the marriage record but can't make out the place names, probably due in part to the fact that I am in Canada and not familiar with many of these places. For Duncan it says something like Frden or Fr den and for Flora it says Do in Wene (?) Ma---? Any ideas?

Any help with their dates and who their parents were would be greatly appreciated. I believe Duncan was born abt. 1781 and Flora died in 1837. They lived on Iona but I don't think were born there.

Canada / Re: How to find burial records in Westmorland Co., NB?
« on: Tuesday 11 February 20 13:11 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you yet again, Don; I will contact the Havelock Church. Find a Grave is great but only has the transcriptions on the stones as you know and many others never had a stone. Burial records can be hard to track down and often have been poorly kept but one can always hope!

Google Maps shows a church, well maintained as is the cemetery.  Its actually called Steeves Settlement United Baptist Church.  Find a Grave has 80% photographed.

You could contact the Havelock Baptist Church which still operates and is 5km to the west or the one at Lewis Mountain which is about 7km to the east.  Here is the Baptist Church link https://baptist-atlantic.ca/tools-resources/church-locator click on the two churches it will provide contact information or fill out the https://baptist-atlantic.ca/contact-us form and ask who would have the burial books.

How would I find out who holds the burial records for the Steeves Settlement Cemetery in Westmorland County, New Brunswick? I don't think there is a church there anymore.

Canada / Re: Salisbury Parish, West. Co., NB 1921 Census

Thank you again, Don; I guess I have my answer, sadly:

"On some pages, part or all of the name column is missing because the left-hand margin of the page had been cut off. Since that information was missing from the microfilm, it is also missing from the digitized images. The originals no longer exist. Those pages are indexed in the database, but the information is incomplete.  For example, the database entry might give age, place of birth, etc., but no name or only a partial name."

In trying to read the 1921 census records for Salisbury Parish in Westmorland County I was aghast to find that the first column containing the names has been chopped off when they were digitized. Is there a way to bring this to someone's attention so that they could be redone?

Canada / Re: Saint John, NB, death records

Thank you, Don. I had found that too but assumed (rightly or wrongly) that it would have indicated twins if that were the case. Too bad it doesn't even give the gender of the child. Perhaps one child was alive at birth but if so there doesn't appear to be any record. I've seen several records where Stultz looked like Stulty when handwritten.

There is a death is under Stulty.  Premature birth; a child of William. Its a Clergyman's Return dated 18 Jul 1917 so its not informative.  And being premature you won't find a given name.
