US Completed Requests / Re: BMD records in Brooklyn/NYC from 1880s and onwards?

Do you know Agnes' married name?  If so, you can look for her in the Social Security Death Index.  If she applied and she knew her parents' names, they would be on the application.  Same for the son.  Also look at marriage records for the children in case parents are listed.  And on death certificates.

Couldn't you pin down his age from the 1940 census?

I see there is an Evan Williams, age 50, born Wales, next door to Aaron in the 1870 census.  Have you found anything on him?  Possible brother?  Also, men back then tended to name their first- born son after their father.  First son was James?

Yep, you're right, Shelly.  Wrong guy.  I did see an Alfred who died 1955 in Florida.  Maybe he was a snowbird?

Social Security Death Index has an Alfred Woodward, born 24 Nov 1888, died 1 Aug 1974 in Middleton, MA.  This is in Essex Co.  You could contact the County Clerk's for a death certificate.

Yes, I had the 1860 info.  I have considerable info on John Wesley's siblings but just never could find where he died.  His brother James Henry (Jim) Masoner/Davis is my ancestor.
