Many, including myself, have been on the receiving end of Diane's help and experience.  Having a thread for her, sending messages of hugs, love and caring to Diane and her family is one way of showing appreciation for all that she has contributed to the group and you are all doing exactly that.

Warm and fuzzy, buzzy hugs heading your way from one of the many Kiwis in the UK.

Reflecting on all of this, I have no idea why the occupations are different for him, but, even in today's world people change direction later in life.  The rest of the information seems to match up.

I have the marriage certificate for John Felix Goddard and Ethel Phillips.  Here it states that his Rank/Profession is that of a Cinematographer and his father a Decorator.  The marriage was in 1912.

In 1914 when daughter, Ethel Joyce (known as Joyce) was born his occupation is stated as being an Electrician (Journeyman).

I am happy to send you copies of these.

Prior to finding the marriage certificate the only information I had on John Felix was by word of mouth from two sources.  The first being my grandmother who had said he was a "cinema worker" and the other, was from the daughter-in-law of Ethel's sister, who, when I visited her some 13 years ago had remembered them living in Saffron Walden and that John Felix had worked in a cinema.

Yes, they are the Fred and Emily/Emma I have been researching.  :)

I have some certificates here and Emily/Emma variations are in both.

I have William J Beaney marrying Annie A Walkinshaw, 1927, West Ham, Essex.

Annie, I think, is Annie Amelia Walkinshaw, born c1902, Walthamstow, Essex,  daughter of Annie nee Brown and George William Walkinshaw.

I have Annie Walkinshaw's ancestry back a few generations.

I apologise for the amount of space the piccy is taking on the post and unless it is required will refrain from doing the other one as the only difference is that is is a different angle.

My turn to try and upload the photos of Sarah's grave.  I have changed the file type to jpg as bmp isn't in the list and reduced the size of the pictures to 75%.
