A Google search netted me "Down under with the Prince".  Scrolling down the page to:

66 DOWN UNDER WITH THE PRINCE

It mentions the shot-torn colours carried by the third British Foot Guards at the battle of Alexandria as long ago as 1801 and that these colours had been handed down through the generations by NZ descendants of Colonel Samuel Dalrymple who was in command of the regiment at that time.  The account went on to say that the colours, which apparently were the only ones belonging a Guards regiment, preserved elsewhere other than the British Islands.  They were presented to HRH the Prince of Wales, by Mrs J H Hankins, nee Dalrymple, who is, in fact, Agnes Sophia Wemyss Dalrymple.  This took place in Palmerston North, NZ.

It was H.R.H the Prince of Wales and I think it was around 1921.

I have found a reference to what Glamis might be talking about..

There is a 600 year old Gothic cathedral, built over the tomb of St Mungo, in Glasgow, Glasgow Cathedral, also called the High Kirk of Glasgow or St Kentigern's or St Mungo's Cathederal, and amongst its treasures are the faded and bullet-holed colours of the Scottish Regiment of Foot Guards from the Egypt Campaign of 1801.  Apparently there is a label that says they found their way thanks to Mrs Hankins of Palmerston North.

Well, locating the lair is an excellent start.  So I take it that both GWD and Eliza are in the same lair with two others.  The next challenge there would be the identity of the other two "residents" and where they fit in - apart from the obvious, in the same plot.

The details held on the burial match up well with what you already have?

If you go to Google Books and type in:

Christian Dalrymple Hugh Stuart it will turn up lots of bits of information on the 2 of them as well as useful details on the family.

Assuming we are all talking about the same Hugh Stuart, Lieut.Col James Dalrymple mentioned a sister, Christian Dalrymple, in his will.

This is from KirstyG's post on Wednesday 19 August 2009:

Christian Dalrymple daughter of William 3rd Bart. of Cousland and Anne Philip.
Christened 27th October 1767 Cranston Midlothian.

Marriage 15th November 1805 St Mary, St-Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, England.
Christian Dalrymple to Hugh Stuart.

There are some very excellent revelations in that will.

George may eventually have received a substantial legacy; it was 'expectant' on the death of Hugh Stuart.

Unless I missed it somewhere, I suspect we need to find the will for Hugh Stuart to find out.

Hauntings and evasions.. A really challenging combination.  It doesn't appear to have frightened any of us off the trail, in fact, I think we are more determined than ever.  The only restriction, apart from brick walls that need navigating around and red tape are time restrictions.  I get involved in an angle of search then look at the time... "Eeek! I need to get ready for work!" So, you could also say that it is captivating and we are willing captives  :P

Although, in the interim, Little Nell is right.  A paper version would indeed help.
