Hi,

me and my husband own a butchers shop in Copnor Rd....i know that in the 1940's a family called Anderson owned it....i'll try to find out the previous owners name. there used to be another butchers in Copnor Rd but that closed down approx 10/13 yrs ago. there is also another butchers in Chichester Rd,Copnor called Healeys though i don't know how long they've been there

the only thing that spring to mind is Wymering Manor, not over the hill but in Cosham, which is a northern part of Portsmouth. it apparently looks Tudor but was built earlier and is well known with ghost hunters and in the late 60's and 70's was used as a youth hostel

If you google Wymering Manor, you shold be able to find some info on it,

i've got Annie's immigration record from Australia, she travelled with her daughter.
i would love to find out what happened to Annie or her daughter for my mum as she was a child when they left but she can remember them well,

Hi Selina,

both Kenilworth and Rosetta Rd's are still there,i don't have a clue what the Poulner would have been/meant
the best place to find out about the electoral roll is the Record Office in Museum Rd,unfortunately i was there just this week but i doubt I'd be able to go again before Christmas, sorry.
there is a website for the ro www.portsmouthrecordsoffice.co.uk . i know they usually shut for stock taking around the first couple of weeks in december so you might want to email them pretty quickly if there is nobody else unable to help,
