There are two unused scence on line

one discusses her ancestor the Marquis of Granby. The other in another librray full of old manuscripts confirms the tree she was given and picks out additional points on the male line.. The comment on the femal line was amde that its easy to accurately compile tress that descend through baronetcies.

Perhaps the whole episode demosntares the ease of tarcing back any aristocratic ancestry, becuase it is betetr, and more extensively documented.

The most boring episode I can recollect

History of two aristocratic ancestors and no family research at all!

Some more snippets I;ve found

Mary Ann died Cheltenham Q3 1904, age 62

Their son James married Hannah Maude Boyle Q3 1894 in Cheltenham and they had a son James born 17/9/1895 in Cheltenham. THey emigrated to Canada and their son's call up papers give some information (Canadian archives)

Charles I can't find in 1861 or 1881

I've only just noticed this post and the vague birth locations given in 1871 don't help

I suspect Charles senior is probably from High Wycombe born 1839 bap 30 June 1839,

His parents were William Morecraft, a butcher, 1807-1841 and Ann (1813-1875).

Charles, and his brothers, were  chairmakers in 1851, Wycombe being a major centre of furniture making.
Charles isn't identifiable in the 1861 but isn't in Bucks.
Several of his relations were later found in Southwark

The 1875 death mentioned previously isn't of a Charles from Bucks but a cressgrower from Northchurch, Herts

Most probably Cookham, which was the registration district that covered maidenhead until the later 19th century

The Maundrell marriage is a curious one

the family does not appear on the 1851 census but their daughter Ann was baptised at wells St Cuthberts on 30 april 1851 with three further children baptised there to 1858. Thomas snr was buried in wells in 1867

in 1851 there is a Thomas Maundrell working at wells Asylum but his age is 24, not 34, and no indication of any wife is apparent!

Another possibility is that he changed his surname during WW1. German names were very unpopular and even the Royal family changed theirs.

But to what? There is no literal equivalent.
