Sorry that Edward NORMAN does not feature. The couple appear to have had 5 children baptised at Bow Brickhill from 1786-1802 but I don't know where they married nor whence he came.

Buckinghamshire / NORMAN Bletchley area

My line traces back to Robert NORMAN and Sarah PRICE who married in Bletchley on 30 Dec 1686.  They appear to have been buried in Bletchley  in 1731 and 1734 having had 8 children.

With the eldest son named Charles, I wonder if Robert was the son of Charles?  (Charles NORMAN married Mary BEAVIN at Hoggeston in 1661).

I know of some trees on the web that show Robert as born 1640 but with no evidence in support

Cornwall / HETHERINGTON Padstow
« on: Tuesday 29 November 11 16:50 GMT (UK)  »
Tracing my PASCOE line leads back, on one branch to John and Martha HETHERINGTON  in Padstow in the 1740s. This name is not native to Cornwall and they appear to provide the first instances of its use in the county. A settlement order, of Jan 1738, shows them being returned to Barkestone le Vale, Leicestershire, another area, where the name is uncommon. But they were soon back in Padstow.

Can anyone offer insights on this family, or details of 18th century events not to be found on the Cornish OPC site?

The add ons, to the originals, are interesting.

The regional surname tool looked useful, and different from that on line, which maps 1881 or 1998 distributions on to a map of postcodes (rather than counties). Seeing Lisa's surname distribution was especially interesting since I have cousins of that name, who come from the centre of that concentration of the name.

The second story was also of interest as we knew a German, also from East Prussia, who had settled in Berkshire after his time as a POW. Although he married an Italian rather than English girl.

This couple married in Ridgmont on 2 April 1773 where they lived until their deaths
Isaac in 1820 (or 1827?) Mary in 1818 but I've been unable to ascertain where they might have come from.

Any suggestions?
