Thank you for responding... I'm glad you don't feel I'm being over anxious!

Now you've told me all about your area I'm feeling much happier and can visualise it.... pity about not being able to walk along the beach... my OH's dream to live by/near the sea... he keeps talking about us moving but we've lived in this area for over 40 yrs and in this house 33yrs, it's in the countryside but about as far as you could get to the coast!

Just so long as you keep safe, which I'm sure you will, it's important for us all to get outside for exercise. We're lucky to be surrounded by fields and some lovely walks... just need a pub at the end to go and have a nice glass of wine outside after a long walk! ☹️

Take care

RTL - thank you for your kind thoughts. I've always tried to knit, sew or craft things for charities and have felt particularly frustrated over this period as I would have liked to have done more... but feel happy I'm able to contribute now.
I've also got some little baby blankets for our local hospital when I can get to it!

Roobarb - I hope you're safe on your walks, it worries me that you're walking through woods... I don't know what part of the country you live in but please take great care won't you... sorry if I'm sounding like an anxious mother!

Today's diary

Woke late as slept badly, opening the curtains to dull skies and rain... the garden does need it though so I'll forgive it! It made me realise how fortunate we've been over these past weeks of lockdown that the weather has been warm and sunny to lift ones spirits in dark times..
Usual breakfast then went up to my work room and did my hours session of Yogalates , we stopped for two minutes at 11am in a peaceful yoga position. It felt very calming and made you really focus on why we were all doing it. Thank you to all those wonderful people who sadly through their selflessness have lost their lives.
Cheese on toast for lunch today as we felt like something hot... no soup left in the freezer now... shouldn't really have had two pieces but it was lovely!
Upstairs to do all the ironing whilst watching Kirstie Allsopp doing her craft programme.
Had a cuppa then our daily dose of scrabble lost again...  😢☹️
Got my sewing machine out and started on the headbands I'd cut out the other day...
Watched daily briefing,,, goid news that testing us going to be widened as it needs to be.
Jacket potato with mince and vegs for dinner..
Watched an old film and off to bed.

Take care everyone, stay safe... hope weather improves so we can get out tomorrow.

RTL - thanks for your advice, I'm pleased to say that my toothache seems to have subsided.... hopefully it will continue to be ok...
It's actually head bands I'm making, the ones with buttons either side so the elastic from the masks goes on the buttons not round the ears as apparently it causes discomfort. I'm pleased to say a couple of my neighbours have donated some large buttons. Then it will be onto 'duvet scrubs'.
I, like Roobarb feel a little guilty for not doing much when you're working so hard and having to catch all these buses too. Thank you to all of you folk working so hard to help us all stay alive and safe.

Today's missive!

Woke quite late to a bit of a dull sky... the birds are still singing and the blossom on our neighbours crab apple tree is filling out now and will look a real picture in a day or two.
Usual breakfast ... then in to the kitchen sorted out veg draw in the fridge to see what we've got left and give it a good wash...
cooked some plums with star anise and a cinnamon stick... really annoying I had to throw away about 4 unused sticks as I'd put one back that I'd used before and it must have not been quite dry as they were moldy... I buy them from Daily Bread, it's a cooperative and sells these sorts of items at really good prices... goodness knows when I'll get back there!
Decided to give kitchen a good clean...
Then the bathrooms...
Then rest if the house stopping for lunch and receiving shopping from a neighbour...
Did the hoovering, OH decided to mow the lawn
Went over to the village hall to borrow a table to use for my sewing machines... it's ok it's not used and I'm a key holder...
We had the floors all sanded and revarnished the first week of lockdown... not been in since before he did it and it looks wonderful... well worth what we paid for it although some money came from the windfarm trust as we're a village nearby we are allocated money every year and we can apply for funds it's been very useful... Any organisation in the village can apply...
We decided we'd have a game of scrabble... lost by couple of points so OH now in the lead... so we had another one and I lost again.. and I'd given him some help... not doing that again!
Listened to daily briefing not very inspiring... why do they ask the same questions every day ... do they think they'll get different answers....
Gammon and salad for dinner, then watched tv... mostly rubbish!
The highlight of the day was a picture and a thank you video of our grandsons wearing the new t shirts I'd sent them last week...
Had the planets on them and they glow in the dark... so we got a photo of them in their downstairs loo in the dark and you can see them glowing green..lovely
We sent them a video back which apparently they were tickled pink over!
Ah well another day over...
Take care night all, stay well and safe

Thanks for your advice Ruskie & oldfashionedgirl.... I'm keeping 🤞🤞as it seems to be much improved today and no pain... even when eating. I have been able to brush my teeth with my usual electric brush with no problems didn't hurt at all... very odd.
I'm hoping it's gone!

Caroline, I hope you find that your dentist is accepting patients, and that you can get your tooth seen to immediately. You would expect/ hope some will be open for emergencies.  :-\

In the mean time, oil of cloves is supposed to relieve toothache - usually sold in chemists, but maybe supermarkets as well.

Thanks Ruskie- it's not what one needs at the moment - we had our check up on May 6th but they phoned few weeks ago to change it until July so I not expecting them to be open 😢
But will give them a call to see...
woke  this morning to find it's not sore at all!
Thanks for your advice, friend going to the chemist later in the week and said if we needed anything she'd oblige so might take her up on it and get some oil of cloves!

The Stay Safe Board / Diary - Sunday 26th April
« on: Sunday 26 April 20 23:51 BST (UK)  »
Starting another day.... Sunday today I think... oh yes because the papers lying on the doormat!
Had a dreadful nights sleep, woke early with toothache, took a paracetamol and tried to go back to sleep... tossed and turned and gave up in the end...
Messaged my son in Brisbane and we agreed to have a FaceTime once we were up and about..
Usual breakfast, sunny day again outside, so great to be able to open all the windows and hear the birds singing away and breath in the fresh air..no noise at the moment..
Spoke to our son for a good couple of hours, comparing notes between UK and Aus... certainly more strict in some areas than here, no crossing state lines unless for valid reason... anyone coming into the country isolate in hotels for 14 days.... not like here where people returning in droves and being trusted to isolate without any checks!
Lunchtime when we finally finished, usual sandwich
Two lots of washing done out on the line to dry
Decided we'd have a rest today after out 6 mike walk yesterday so sat in the garden and had two games of scrabble! I'm loosing 6-5 now ☹️😢
Peace and quiet spoilt by motor bikes roaring noisily up and down main round and you hear them coming for a long time as Road almost wraps round he Village. OH ended up,phoning the police who were all nice as pies could even hear the on her end of the phone said how dreadful noise was... but that was it! Infact it was noisier after OH hadcalled...
Listened to daily briefing... think they're waiting for Boris to return before we hear what's next...
Dinner, nice baked gammon joint with new pots and veg with cider and onion sauce.
Watched some tv.. not much worth watching so early bed...
Busy on FB as I've joined local group making scrubs... once I get patterns sorted..  must see the headbands tomorrow and get cracking.

A nothing day really... another one...

Keep your chins up everyone and thanks to Pharma and RTL for all your hard work, I take my hat off to you both and all your colleagues and hopeby making some scrubs etc will help.

Night all

Slept like a log last night... could be because I'd slept so badly the previous night...
Weather was dull and cloudy, it makes such a difference to ones outlook too and the garden looked dull ...
Usual breakfast... cereal, fruit and yogurt...
Didn't feel too brilliant have devoloped tooth ache which started yesterday afternoon and have taken some paracetamol to dull ache... just what I need st the moment..
Sat and finished my book as it's got to go back to the library... that's the ebook library I use very good just like borrowing books from the normal library..
OH had his Saturday morning Zoom with his golf buddies... good for him to have some male chatter, he's not been out, apart from walks and bike rides since we were told to stay in... I at least have been to shop so get away from four walls...
Had usual lunch..
Sun out and sky blue by now so we decided we needed a walk to shake off that lethargic feeling..
Today we decided to do a longer walk so we did 6 miles round the fields and the two small hamlets and home.. not done it for a while and it was lovely to see the trees all in leaf, mayflower out and bluebells... next time we'll walk through the woods to see the bluebell carpet. Not too many card around today seemed much quieter.
We both felt much better and had a well deserved cuppa..
Just sat down when daughter messaged to see if we wanted a Zoom with them...
So lovely to see them, even if we can't give them a hug..
They all seem happy which is a relief and daughter relaxed and smiling which is great as she does suffer with stress... SiL looks very tired though, his job very demanding and not much relief with schooling boys too between them. Boys flitted in and out showing us bits they'd made etc...
Off for a shower so as not to seize up
OH BBQ steaks ... I love this time of the year as he enjoys cooking outside and we have lots of lovely salads... looking forward to eating our own vegs in coming months..
Watched some tv... lovely programme on Matisse.

Another day gone by... hope this tooth ache doesn't get any worse as not sure what I'll do... try the dentists on Monday... not sure if they're open though.

Take care all... Viktoria hope your gout improves soon for you

The Stay Safe Board / Re: Diary Friday 24th April
« on: Friday 24 April 20 23:46 BST (UK)  »
Oh dear I'm so sorry to hear of everyone's woes today... I'm feeling quite depressed now...

My day... same as all the rest I suppose, sun shining .. not up particularly early ... usual breakfast...
to be honest I can't remember what I did this morning it must have been that dull... oh yes sorted out the drawers in the freezer to see what's in them.. very exciting.
Yesterday had a mail from a friend in the village to say her DiL who works in a hospital in Norwich I think has been asking for bags for scrubs,, now apparently they've enough but need headbands with large buttons for elastic on masks to go over to stop their ears rubbing...
Got quite a stash of fabric so cut out two pillow cases that will make 21 headbands.... 25mm elastic like gold dust... found some in my sewing box but will need more..
OH pottered in the garden, he decided it was too hot for a walk and his knee giving him jip...
Played scrabble.. score now 4 games all
Had lunch usual sandwich.
Decided to join FB local hospitals for the love of scrubs...
Sat out enjoyed the sunshine in the garden... don't think we've sat and chatted so much for a long time since all this isolation started!
Watched daily briefing... getting bit fed up with it as it's pretty much same every day...
Dinner tonight was salmon cooked in foil on the BBQ and salad..
Watched some rubbish tv
Bed and a read

Looking forward to catching up with daughter and boys over the weekend so something to look forward to and son in Brisbane early next week.

Take care all

The Stay Safe Board / Diary:- Thursday 23rd April
« on: Thursday 23 April 20 23:37 BST (UK)  »
I thought I'd start this one off although I know some people may have added today's to yesterday.....
in the great scheme of things does it matter?....

Today up with the lark... well nearly lovely sunshine, the birds singing, the garden looking beautiful... if only someone else could see it!

Breakfast, shower... OH got up whilst I was getting ready to go out...

Went to PO first posted two lovely T shirts I bought for the boys to give them at Easter, they've got all the planets on and they glow in the dark... I bought them one each last year and the three of us had to squeeze into their downstairs loo turn off the light so we could see them glowing.... sadly they'll have to do that bit on their own this time..😢☹️

Next the butchers.. luckily I was the only person in there and the PO so that worked out well

Next I drove into Lidls car park and out again too many people so went to Waitrose for my C & C all very smooth in and out in about 10 mins...
back to Lidls... shorter queue, one in one out ended up standing behind my neighbour so we chatted 2 metres apart whilst we waited to go in... too many men on their own in there with no idea how to wait for person in front to move so ended up almost in some of the racking to keep distance from them... along with another lady and we did have a smile... men totally oblivious! Honestly ..

Once home put shopping away something that took about 10 minutes to do seemed to take an age... washing in soapy water what I could... wipe with antibacterial other things and rest left on the bench in the garage to fight amongst themselves whilst in isolation...

Lunch time... sandwich... washing out..

OH on hand and knees edging the path... comes in and put ice pack on his knee as he shouldn't really be kneeling down! Said I'd have done it for him but he couldn't wait  for me to finish what I was doing!

Delivered shopping round to my other neighbours stood distance away and had catch up with them

Sat in the garden with a cuppa and read for a while...

Watched briefing... better today.. media questions not as dumb as some days.
BBQ marinated pork chops with salad and nice glass of wine.
Out at 8pm to clap along with others then some tv and bed to read.

Felt better today.. OH seemed in better frame of mind too despite trying to find some creakote for the fence and shed... only place that had it was Wickes and they're not open!

Hope everyone else has had a better day too...
Still surprised at amount of traffic around and more people...

Night all
