Kent / Roy William Richard Taylor

Roy William Richard Taylor married Joan Beatrice Courves during the September quarter of 1939 and registered in Gravesend.  Roy William Richard Taylor and Florence Mary Hill Benn (Behm) then Taylor née Ashley married on 19 November 1949 in Kent.  Florence was my maternal grandmother and Roy was her second husband.  He was born around 1908.  I would dearly love to obtain any information related to Roy.  When and where was he born, date married, did he divorce or did his first wife pass away?  Did he have any children from his first marriage?  When did he pass away?  Any information around his work life?  I live in South Africa and obtaining information across the waters is rather difficult.  Many thanks.

Thank you all so very, very much for all these nuggets of information.  Little by little I see a bit more of my Grandfather.  So wish I could find out more about his military service / record.

There is a tree on Ancestry but very little info apart from what you already know.  Here’s the link if you have Ancestry access

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/110815583/person/390083695683/facts?_phsrc=IoT1&_phstart=successSource

The tree owner may know which force he served with during WW2 - unless you already have that info

Unfortunately I don't have access to Ancestry.  Thank you anyway.

He married Joan Beatrice Courves -September Quarter 1939 registered Gravesend vol. 2a page 4323

Interesting.  So either she (Joan Beatrice Courves) passed on or they divorced.  Thank you for the information.

Thank you for the speedy reply.  I guess it is a bit difficult to do all of that from here in South Africa.  I don't have a death certificate or other items, unfortunately.  Thanks again.
