Other Countries / Re: Search for Georg Behm data

Unfortunately I cannot view the record, however I do have a copy of her death certificatate as well as birth certificate of her son. A card where she had to report to police at start of WW2 indicated her birthplace as Palone.  There is however no further details. No further data for Georg(e) Behm either.  I've gone through the German links you sent as well as some others but no luck. Palone could be Patone / Alone, etc. The Georg Behm WW1 idea could be wrong.  It was the only place where I could find his name.

Hi J
Justin. I'm not too sure whether they are the same people. This is the closest I've got to Georg Behm. I'm hoping...?

Other Countries / Search for Georg Behm data

I'm trying to find more information on Georg Behm.  The only information that I have is as follows :

Firstly, he was injured during WW1 with these details: Krgsfreiw.  (Kriegsfreiwilliger) Georg Behm - Harburg a. E. (an der Elbe) - leicht verwundet (light wounded).  He was in the 2nd company of the Reserve-Infantry-Regiment No. 208.  He was wounded in the fights in the areas of Bixschoote, Dixmuiden and Verbrandesmis from October 22 to November 14, 1914.

Secondly, Gefr. (Gefreiter) Georg Behm - Ottensen, Altona - abermals u. (und) zw.
(zwar) schw. (schwer) v. (verwundet) - (it means once more wounded but
heavily wounded).  Dated 08/09/1915.

Thirdly he married Elizabeth Haberer around 1897.  She was born 11 July 1868.

Any information would really be appreciated.

England / Re: Will St Giles Workhouse, Endell Street help me in my search?

This is great - thanks John!  So it seems that Elizabeth was possibly single.  The information is very informative.  Do you perhaps have any other such links?  I wonder whether Charles George Henry
Behm ever really left England?  Did he perhaps attend Workhouse school and only later attend the school at St Knightsbridge?

Is there any way to re-trace Elizabeth's footsteps prior to being admitted to the French Hospital?

"Paid for by its father Samuel Gilesby (?) French Waiter"

I'm wondering whether Samuel isn't the father?  Perhaps the George Behm is fictional, to try and cover up?  Is there anything further about Samuel that one could trace?

I'd still love to trace Elizabeth's history back to Germany...

Also, would there be any documentation after the Workhouse experience? Anything that could point me in a direction? Many thanks.

I can unfortunately not access the ancestry site mentioned.  Reading the information supplied, it seems as if Elizabeth remained with the Workhouse? Is there any data prior to 1903? Would there be anything on the different censuses which could shed some light?

Thank you, I'll try all of this. Wow, what interesting information.

I asked a German agency to investigate the German side, however even with 10 years of experience she got to a dead end - the first time in her life. Hopefully I'll get further now... :)
