World War Two / Roy William Richard Taylor
« on: Monday 15 August 22 06:18 BST (UK)  »
Good day

I am trying to find out more details regarding my Grandfather, Roy William Richard Taylor.  He was 38 years old when he married my Grandmother, Florence Mary Hill (Benn) née Ashley, who was then aged 39.  This occurred on 19 November 1949 at Gravesend.  His father was Robert William Taylor.

I would like to know more about his military record, number, medals, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Braam Bosman

Hi Susie60

Thank you for the response.  I see I am a couple of years late ( ;D), however never saw your response.  I am very interested in this part of my family tree and would appreciate any details that you may be able to provide?  This is for both the English as well as the South African side of the family.

I've been told that Woulidge was on the British side and Bosman on the South African side.

Sandra, I think both the Woulidge as well as the Bosman ancestors survived the war, so surely they wouldn't be listed on the war graves site?

Thank you Nanny Jan, will try to log in.

Sandra, the data you have is fantastic, thank you very much. I see his occupation is listed as overseer. Can you find any information as to why he went to South Africa?
