I don't know if anyone can help but I would like to know about a Kate Humphrey.  According to the 1891 census, she was born in Toronto, Canada in 1883.  Her older brother, William, was born 1881 in York and her next young sister was also born York in 1885 so a small window in which the family travelled to Canada and back.  Kate's mother's name was Margaret Humphrey (nee Chadwick) born 1860 London and her father was Tom Humphrey born 1861 York.

A basic search of A******y comes up with a couple of Kate Humphreys but as I don't have a subscription with them, should be grateful if someone could check to see if either of them is the one I am looking for.

With many thanks.

Hello Pam

Thank you for the census information and the bit regarding Richard.  The ages and places of birth for James & family match up with the information I have so looks likely this is the family I am looking for.  (I believe City of Young will be City of York.)

Richard is 'new'.  I have James' father as also being a James born Ireland but trying to find Lenegans (with the various spellings) on the censuses is a nightmare!!

Thank you very much for the trouble you have taken.  It is much appreciated.

With kind regards.

I am looking for Edward Lenegan on 1871 census.  I have just received a copy of his birth certificate - Edward Lenagan 18.9.1867 Father James Mother Elizabeth (nee Kelly).  I have done a basic search on A******y, in the end using just Edward's christian name, birth year, place of birth and christian names of parents.  The only family that comes up is under the name Thompson (mother Eliza).  I would have ignored this but for the fact that I found Edward on the 1911 census under the surname Thompson!  Curious!!

Could someone please let me have the 1871 details of this Thompson family please.  The only other details from the birth certificate are that the family lived 26 Albert Street, York.  St George.  and father James was a Glassblower.

With grateful thanks.

Hello Sandra and ShellyEsq

Thank you both for your time on this one.  A mystery as to who these people are!  Another mystery - I have Joseph and Helena on the 1920 census (from familysearch) living Montgomery, Pennsylvania with 2 children - Edna aged 12 and Charles aged 10.  Charles was born December 1909.  Unfortunately, I can't find Edna or Charles on 1910 census.  I seem to be having a few problems with this family at the moment!

With grateful thanks.

Hello Shellyesq

Thank you for looking up the image for me but unfortunately, as you say, it doesn't make sense!

Any chance you could check the surname of the family immediately above Joseph?  (Joseph married a Helena Scholl).  Just wondering if Joseph is indeed the head of the household or whether they all belong to the family immediately listed above them.  At this point in my research I don't have an August or Frank Saxton so just wondering who they are.  I am grasping at straws on this one!!!

With grateful thanks.

US Lookup Requests / 1910 US Census - Joseph Saxton
« on: Tuesday 21 August 12 19:53 BST (UK)  »
Could someone please let me have full details of Joseph Saxton born 1882 Pennsylvania on 1910 census.  I have some 1910 details from familysearch but..  there is Joseph Saxton age 27, wife Helena H Saxton 24, but it also has son August Saxton age 27 (followed by Bella Saxton age 26) and another son Frank O Saxton age 22 (followed by Katherine Saxton age 24 and Gertrude A Saxton age 1 m).  It is impossible for August and Frank to be sons of Joseph.  I am wondering if there are any further details on the image which would clarify this.  Family living Abington, Montgomery, Pennsylvania.  All down as born Pennsylvania.

I would be much obliged for some help on this.

With many thanks.

US Completed Requests / Re: 1910 US Census - New Jersey

Hello Sandra

Thank you very much indeed for all that helpful information.  I was nearly cross-eyed last night/early morning trying to find the family on the passenger lists that are available for free.  I did find a Harrison Appleby returning to the USA in 1920 and he is the right age.

The information regarding Sarah Saxton was brilliant.  I do have a Sarah Bardy born 1844 who married an Abraham Saxton and they emigrated to the USA in the 1860s.

Thank you also for the information regarding the WW1 Draft.  All these little snippets help fill out the family history.

With many thanks again for your help.

Kind regards.

Could someone please let me have the extra details on the original image compared to information given on familysearch.  (I do not have access to Ancestry.)

I have a Harrison Appleby aged 33 born England, his wife Alice aged 30 born England, son John Appleby age 9 born England and a daughter Elma Appleby age 5 born Pennsylvania.  Address = Camden Ward 8, Camden, New Jersey.  I am presuming the original image will give Harrison's occupation (joiner on 1901 in England), a precise address and when they emigrated to the USA.  At the moment I have not been able to find them on passenger lists between 1901 and 1910.

The family is still living in Camden, New Jersey on 1920 but in the household of James Warfel.  Harrison is a widower.  I've tried to find Alice's death but no success as yet.  If you could point me in the right direction in this regard that would be very much appreciated.

With grateful thanks.
