According to RAF abbreviations PTC means Personnel and Training Command

Wrong timeframe for this meaning, unfortunately

As far as I can tel it's defn 50 as per attached

Still wonder if they meant 60, there's nothing for 50 in the archives  http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C7162605

There's mention here of "Ray Sturtivant's book 'RAF Flying Training and Support Units Since 1912'" that may be worth looking in to  http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-351798.html

and it may be an idea to also try a specific RAF forum such as  http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/index.php

The chin cleft could be part of the theatrical makeup, couldn't it? I'm not sure when the seated photograph was taken, I'll see if I can find out.

Yes, probably - looking at it again it seems too dark to be a cleft shadow. Could it be another male in the back row?

There is a distinct chin cleft in one but not the other. I also wonder how far apart these photos are date-wise?

Seems to mean either Personnel Transit Centre or Personnel Transit Camp.

Are you sure it reads 50 PTC (which doesn't appear to exist) and not 60 PTC (which was in the general area)?

i Cant quiet comprehed this because william henry Nolen and Mary Digney had a child Henry Donald
4th November 1882 so if William Donald was 46 in 1929 he was born 1883 they then had a child Elishia Naomi 13th April 1884 its all very confusing

Quite possible that Henry Donald went by the name William Donald

Looks as if the brick maker was in Latrobe in 1882 using the name LOVETT.

Nice find! There's a convict, Charles Lovett, who was a bricklayer - and I'm wanting to check William Lovett/Nolan's occupations to see if he was solely a brickmaker. It may be that Charles is father to William??

Add: from the births I've found, he is listed as a brickmaker for a few, a labourer for one and a bricklayer for Henrietta's

Add: 1873 birth of Charles Henry Lovett to Charles Henry (bricklayer) and Martha (nee Hill)

Death of a Mary Lovett, 8 yo, daughter of a bricklayer. Informant, William Lovett, the brother. Latrobe Nov 1874
https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD35-1-43p141j2k

LATROBE. (1874, November 6). The Cornwall Chronicle (Launceston, Tas. : 1835 - 1880), p. 3. Retrieved January 13, 2017, from http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article66077161

If this is William Lovett/Nolan, he would have been 27 yo, based on age at 1881, so possibly is the brother mentioned or is the bricklayer father
