Hi folks,

Looking for any info on Janet Anderson born 18/07/1807, Carnock, Fife.

Janet Anderson is my 3rd great grand aunt. After the birth certificate I cant find any trace of Janet Anderson. Checked BDM's and census records but no trace.

Parents of Janet Anderson were -
John Anderson and
Barbara Hume who were married in Dunfermline, 12 December, 1806.
 
Barbara Hume was found in 1841 census living in Dunfermline at Beveridgewell, with her son Stuart after death of her husband John Anderson.

John and Barbara Anderson had 4 children -

Janet the oldest as above
John born 1809 (emigrated to Australia 1863)
Thomas born 1812
Stuart (or Stewart) born 1814 (emigrated to Australia 1859)

Looking for any trace of Janet Anderson after the birth as its my current brick wall!

Ann's death notice says she was sister to Andrew, Janet, Isabella, Margaret, John, Thomas and Barbara.  No mention of a David.  (And if list is in birth order then Janet is the one I found and not the baby in Scotland - clutching at straws)

Hi Ros,

David Anderson would have been Andrew Paton Anderson's uncle. David Anderson was born in 1838 in Dunfermline, Fife and arrived with  Andrew Paton Anderson's grandparents on the Hotspur in 1863.

I found a marriage for David Anderson (correct David Anderson I hope!) and Margaret Reid in Grenfell, 1873. The following children appear to have been born to this couple -

Andrew Paton Anderson had a brother called David which I had nothing on. The following link looks like very probable!

So much info you found in such a short space of time! I was struggling to keep up at one point however I think I'm there now!

Further searches found John Anderson, born 1868, remarried after his wife Sarah McCallum died in 1910. (In my tree I had death for John  Anderson in 1958 in Cootamundra which I now believe was wrong due to your research).

John Anderson married Elizabeth Flynn in 1913 in Carcoar.

They then had the following daughters which you found -

Dorothy Joan Anderson 1916, Carcoar &

Phyllis Jean Anderson 1914, Carcoar.

So they are half sisters of Muriel Paton Anderson born 1906 & Arthur Anderson born 1901.

Also noticed from your research and my tree that Margaret Anderson born 1864, married John Thomas Fowler; and her sister Barbara Hume Anderson born 1872, married Samuel Fowler. I wonder if the Fowler boys were related?

Still to do a check on children of Regan, Berghouse & Ferris families.
