Sussex / William Gorringe born or christened 30.10.1767 in Ringmer, East Sussex

Hi Maureen,
Before I set you another challenge, can you tell me whereabouts in the world you live? You have a wonderful depth of research and knowledge, and a blessing to want to help others like me.
Here is my challenge ........
William Gorringe born or christened 30.10.1767 in Ringmer, East Sussex, parents were William Gorringe and Fanny Finch.
William Gorringe born 1767 married Hannah Jenner, on 5th June 1791 in East Grinstead, Hannah was christened on 24.11.1765 in East Grinstead, East Sussex.
Together, they had William Gorringe, christened in Ringmer on 20th May 1792. Sadly, Hannah Gorringe died on 27th December 1792, a few months after little William (1792) was born, and he died in Brighton, East Sussex on 27th January 1853.
Here comes the exciting bit??!! A will was written by William Gorringe (b1745), dated 1829, saying, "I leave to my late son's three children, two boys and a girl" etc , etc. Now, we know William (1767) married and became a widow in 1792, and I know that William Gorringe (b1792) died in Brighton in 1853.
So between 1792 and 1829, William either remarried or lived with another women, and had one boy and one girl, apart from little William born in 1792. After extensive researches trying to find a William Gorringe as marrying anyone??, I came up with a William Gorringe as marrying a Sarah Thatcher in Glynde, St Mary's, in 1804/5. But from that date on, I can find nothing out about any children born to the couple, or whether in fact my William was the right person who married Sarah Thatcher, and just to add insult to injury, his Father William's wife was also a Sarah??!! There are many William Gorringe's as dying in that area or surrounding areas, and there is one who died in 1822, but he has been claimed and verified by another researcher.
So, Oh GREAT one, what do you make of this brick wall?
Any help as usual will be gratefully welcomed, and maybe one day I could thank you in person?
Regards, and look forward to hearing from you again.

Family History Beginners Board / edward tuck born 1848 Eling, southampton

I am looking for the death of Edward Tuck, born about 1849 in Eling, Southampton. He married Eliza and lived in Thornton Heath in Croydon, Surrey.
In the 1911 census both Edward and Eliza are in the Croydon area, and by the time Eliza died in 1919, she was described as the widow of Edward, so Edward must have died between between 1911 and 1919, but for the life of me, I have never been able to find him as being dead, even though I have used various name variations!
Any help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks,

Family History Beginners Board / Possible adoption

Hi Dawn,

Can I ask you to help look up the following person who I was told was adopted, but not sure whether it was official or not!!
JP born in the September Quarter of 1944 in Croydon, Surrey.
Would love to know if you can find out anything about her?
Many thanks,

I am desperately trying to find the birth of the above lady, who is now deceased. I found her full name on her marriage certificate to Robert D Y Lamb in 1948, when she said her Father was William Iden Neve.

On her death registration, her birthdate is given as above, but I can not find a birth entry anywhere. Kathleen had a brother, William John Neve, born in 1920 in Buckingham, to parents,William Iden Neve and Ethel Elizabeth Smith, who married in London in 1918.

I have tried looking also for the birth of a Kathleen Jones with a Mother's maiden name of Smith, and have found a copy of entries, but without buying the certificates, which  make it an expensive hobby if you get the wrong one.

Any help from any experienced researcher would be gratefully received.

Many thanks.
