Hi Neb1975,
In response to your PM. I don’t have any information about John Stevens. If you are looking for information about John “Tinker” Campbell, I would recommend the sources I have posted in reply #34.

At the time I dropped into this thread some 6 - 7 years ago, I was researching the various Campbell men who were involved with the early pastoral runs on the Darling Downs. I am now fairly sure that Jane Elizabeth Campbell was not related to John Tinker Campbell.

On the 1901 census his occupation was a quarry man. I have not found him on a later census,
Then the shipping information I have already given you in reply#2 is most probably correct. He then would have travelled to South Africa from Australia.

There is a Hugh Griffiths age 25, single, Quarryman, arriving in Fremantle Western Australia in Sept 1903, onboard “Orontes” from London. Do not know if this is your man.
He looks to be travelling with 2 other quarrymen of around the same age - Hugh Jones & John Humphreys

Maybe mid-20.  There is no wedding ring on his hand - so probably before he married.
His tie and the type of shirt collar may enable the experts to give a date.
I note he is has a badge of some type on his left lapel (I cannot identify).

Given the similar surname, London and Italian birth, have you considered the following ? …
