Dublin / County City Commission papers
« on: Sunday 05 November 23 12:57 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone know if the records of the Dublin County City Commission are available? I'm looking for a case that was scheduled for "the commission for Oyer and Terminer for the county and city of Dublin" in February 1911.

Stirlingshire / Re: UPDATED! Stirlingshire deaths - Brilliant reference site

I was wondering if anyone knows who owned/created memento-mori.co.uk? I believe they have passed away, but I'd like to get in touch with their family, if possible.

The Common Room / Anyone going to Kew?
« on: Tuesday 30 May 23 18:02 BST (UK)  »
If anyone is going to the National Archives at Kew in the next 10 days or so, I would really appreciate a lookup of a naturalization document. This is for a school assignment, hence why I need it in this window. I think it will be about 2 pages, and I'd like photographs (just from your phone). I am happy to pay for your time.

Please send me a message if you'll be going, and I can supply further details. Thank you!

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Certified copies of census records?

A certified copy is one that can be used for official purposes, such as GRO certificates as opposed to digital images.

I am guessing it can be done this way: https://www.gov.uk/certifying-a-document

But was wondering if there are any other options. It appears not.

Family History Beginners Board / Certified copies of census records?

Is it possible to get certified copies of the English census? If so, how? I'm specifically interested in 1901-1921.

Ireland / Re: Irish deed index

Yes, with my family, properties were reclaimed. You may want to check court cases to as there are usually disagreements over inheritance and he owns what.

Newspapers hold a lot of information too on the landed gentry.

I'm not researching a specific family per se, but rather trying to understand the chain of ownership for the townland Coolkeragh in Kerry.

Do you have any suggestions of how I might figure this out? I maybe should post this question separately because it pertains more to Irish land law than the deed index!

Did you see the one for Tracton to Dennis book 324 page 487 217642?

This doesn't seem to be right -- this is page 487 in book 324: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSH3-S3YJ-3?i=562&cat=185720
And 217642 is on the next page, but doesn't seem to be Tracton to Dennis.

I'm not having much luck as it is completely out of sequence for those years!

I have found these ones though, although you might already have them. The second one is a nice one.

vol 336 page 135 224204
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJW-P9M6-7?i=74&cat=185720

I know, and there are so many books for those years that it could be in. I may just have to go through all of them.

I did find these two. For the one above, I'm having a hard time understanding it. Is the Earl of Kerry granting James Dennis a perpetual lease of three lives for these properties? So the Earl of Kerry remains the actual owner?
