Hi Sandra & Charlotte,

Hi Charlotte - yes it's me!  Sandra - thanks so much, this answers a few family queries.  Obvious I'm new to this isn't it?  Yorks side of family would be horrified to see my posting in Lancs!!!!  Need to find the death of Samuel Hargreaves - that's the next challenge but at least we have him in Halifax probably rather than a possible alternative of Accrington, Lancs.

One Name Studies: N to S / ROSTHORNS in East Lancashire - any date

I am interested in making contact with anyone interested in the surname ROSTHORN or ROSTHRON, ROSTRON, RAWSTHORNE etc.  My earliest ancestor is George Rosthorn born in Wilpshire, Blackburn, Lancs in 1871.  He had at least one son Thomas born in Wilpshire in 1818.  I also have an Edward and a Hargreaves - all Rosthorn or Rosthron.  The movement of the family in the 19th century seems to have been Blackburn / Chorley / Accrington.  Many thanks.

I am looking for any of the ROSTHORN, ROSTHRON, ROSTRON family.  Specifically I am looking for the birth of Thomas Rosthron born 1818, father George, mother possibly Elizabeth and any siblings he may have had.  Also the marriage of George Rosthron possibly to Elizabeth.  ANY info. on this surname would be appreciated.  Many thanks

Looking in 1841 for a Rachel Hargreaves age 46, who in the 1851 census was a widow, occupation Bread Baker, living at 265 Back Street, Halifax.  In 1841 she may or may not be a widow, her husband was Samuel Hargreaves who would be about 53 yrs of age then.  There could also be a son James aged 21.  Many thanks.

I am looking for a Rachel Hargreaves, who in the 1851 census was a widow living at 265 Back Street, Halifax, occupation Bread Baker.  In the 1841 census she may or may not be widowed - if still alive her husband was Samuel Hargreaves, a weaver, and a son James could also be living with them.  Many thanks.
