Laois (Queens) / William MOORE born c1844 Queens County (Laois) Ireland
« on: Tuesday 25 July 17 18:29 BST (UK)  »
Have got as far as I can go on the Moore ancestral line and would appreciate any information about William Moore's family of origin, where he might have been born etc.
William Moore joined the Dubln Metropolitan Police age 27 and declared that he was a Roman Catholic, and a farmer from Queens county. He was recommended for the DMP by Very Rev. J Taylor. Previously he served with the RIC in Maryborough (Portlaoise).
He married Bridget Mockler, born in Donabate, Co Dublin c1873 they had 11 children:
Annie Belinda, William, Mary M, Bridget (Bertha), Patrick, Kathleen (My grandmother), Sarah, John J, Thomas, Eliza and Joseph.
Many thanks and kindest regards,
Mary

Kindest regards,

Sligo / BELINDA GARDINER born c1820 possibly in Sligo, Ireland
« on: Tuesday 25 July 17 16:57 BST (UK)  »
BELINDA GARDINER born c1820 died 03 Oct 1875 in Old Kilmainham, Dublin.
Am trying to find where she was born and more about her family of origin.
She married Denis Mockler a native of Galway c1840 whom she possibly met in Sligo since he was posted there with the Royal Irish Constabluary (RIC) until 1841. After that they spent 3 years in Leitrim before moving to Dublin where he was stationed with RIC at Ballyboughil and living in Donabate, Co Dublin.
Belinda and Denis had 8 Mockler children: William, Maria, Patrick, Bridget, Charles Denis, Catherine, Thomas and Arthur James.
Any information most appreciated.
Kindest regards, Mary

On the address... Mullingar is likely added to the address because there is also a Collinstown in Dublin, Dublin Airport is also in a townland called Collinstown.
St Johns Church in Drumcree (now in private ownership as a house) was Church of Ireland. The nearest Catholic church / graveyard is Collinstown or Delvin both are 3 miles from Drumcree. St Feichins Catholic church and graveyard in Fore is also nearby.

Searching in Ireland the townlands are worth cross checking with the parish records which may be named by Catholic diocese - Drumcree is currently Diocese of Meath.
