Not inheritance. Just royalty and maybe noblemen/lords etc and how the rules work.

I just thought it would be fun to think about in terms of my own "House"

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Grandson number 1 is me

I was just checking to see if I was indeed the hyopthetical son and heir  ;D

Shetland / Re: Shetlanders with "dark hair and swarthy skin"?!

I traced my family history back to Shetland too. 17th century.

My family are all (even today) blessed with very dark hair, dark eyes and swarthy skin. Especially the males. This is very curious indeed.

King has three sons

Son 1 - Died childless
Son 2 - Died but had one son (Grandson 1)
Son 3 - Alive with one son (Grandson 2)

When the king dies, who does the throne go to?

Do you have the marriage between Andrew Anderson and Mary Taylor? You may find additional information if the marriage occurred in the bride's parish betweeen 1798 and 1812.

Also search for other children born to the couple in the same time frame.

There are some original images available on Familysearch for many parishes within certain time frames, so worth checking there.

Added: A brother, Joseph Taylor Anderson was baptised on the same day as Ralph.

Can't find it.

There is one in Sunderland 1793 between Andrew Anderson and MARGARET Taylor.

But the wife should be called Mary. Also, this marriage is Anglican. On the baptism record of Ralph the religion is Presbyterian (Scotch).

They had a son called Peter Anderson (1799-1800)
Then Ralph Taylor Anderson and Joseph Taylor Anderson (1815)

But ordering/seeing the records for all of this is proving difficult.

No I'm just giving a rough estimate of the time frame, it's a difficult one

I can't find Ralph Taylor Andersons marriage record

He married a widow. Her name was Mary and her surname was either Nanson or Snaith

Which censuses? We're probably talking about 1760-1830 here.

He isn't on the 1841 census.

This record was the only way I could figure out who he was.

I ordered a record from Durham Records Online to find my great grandfather x4

It says he was native to "Larwick, North Britain"..... Do they mean Lerwick, Scotland?
