Thank you.  Appreciate your help.  I had another picture but still have not discovered how to post it.  For some stupid reason I cannot seem to get it into a suitable one to post.  It is of Mr & Mrs. Bennett Senior - i.e. Ella and her husband.  It is a very nice photo too so as soon as I get it in a sendable form will post it here.  Computers are great things but they do drive me crazy when they do not work ax expected!  :( :(  Ha ha

Forgot to change the subject heading.  It was Rueben Bennett who was born in 1913 and believe that came from my cousin Norman.

Sorry, but think his cousin told me his birthdate.  Since he died in 1989 and was a few days short of his birthdate, think the 1913 date is correct??  It could be wrong tho.

I just checked the dates and it looks as if Rueben was born earlier than the marriage date.  Makes no different to me, but back than suppose it was different.  This happened a lot and both my grandmothers had shot-gun marriages!!  :D ;D

Have heard of Rueben  Bennett but think it may be a different one.  The Rueben Bennett in this story was a rather well-known pl  ayer of Football as you call it.  In Canada it is called soccer.  They actually played in Canada but I found out too late to attend the game.  He is definitely related to Norman and was his uncle. - a sister to his Mom.
here is the site:

There were a number of children in this marriage = Rueben, Henry, Victoria and Isabelle - both came to Canada and Isabelle is still living, and Joey who died this year in Aberdeen in January.

I don not have the names of their children and not sure if they want to be added.  Will ask my cousin about that.  Thanks a lot for your interest.

Thank you so much.  I am very very aware of Scotland's People site and used it quite a bit to research my own personal family.  With a lot of relatives it can be quite costly and some of mine came from Shetland and some from Arbroath.  This family is listed on WikiTree as have one of their grandsons - my favourite cousin who was the son of a WW2 War Bride who came to Canada in 1946 at the age of 3!  I do have a couple of pictures and think they were posted before on here.  Should I repost them??  Not sure if that is allowed but will be happy to post them.

Thank you so much.  Are you sure of the dates?  Maggie or Ella as she was called, had been an opera singer before her marriage.  Do you have anything else on her husband?  His grandson thought he had something to do with the docks but wasn't sure?

Live in Canada. ;) :D

This man lived in Aberdeen.  His wife was Maggie Belle (Ella) Bennett maiden name of Mitchell.  Have found her burial spot but cannot find his.  Was told he used to work with the docks?  He was born in 1888 or so I am told.  Can not find any mention of him.  Can anyone help?

I tried to post you a whole page of his letter but unfortunately it was too large.  I thought if you could see more of his writing you might agree what it says.
