There are Old Scottish records for Lesmahagow in Dustydocs.  Also find the father although these don't seem to be as early as 1850.

Hi
My involvement with the Ingram from Ballyroney is that my late husband died at a young age and didn't know anything of his family.  The research I have been doing is primarily for my children as they are the descendants of William who died in 1878 and was born in 1796. He married Eliza Young in 1842.  Their first child, John was his ancestor who died in 1871.  The family left Ireland within the next ten years and settled in Glasgow.  My late husband William would be the gt gt grandson of John.

Hi Toffee
The only way is to find the record of her birth/baptism in Carsphairn on Scotland's People or perhaps Family Search.  Scotland's People is pay-per-view but Family Search is free.
Best of luck

Hi Toffee
There is a Mary Hume aged 16 residing in Holm Farm 1 in 1792.  Also the family of Hume in Holm 5 in the same 1792 census comprising William Hume 53, Mary McGill 50, James Hume 26, William Hume 22, Elizabeth Hume 18, George Hume 13, and Nathan Hume 11.
These are the only Hume family in Balmaclellan in the 1792 census.

Thank you for the information - which I had already found on FindMyPast.
Unfortunately there is no death indicated on the index to enable me to buy a certificate from the GRO website.  I will have to check with the Register Office where it should have been registered but, not knowing London Register Offices I don't know who to approach.
Does anyone know which register Office is responsible for Westminster?
I would be grateful for the information.

There is a map of Runcorn in 1905 which you can buy from the Liverpool & South West Lancashire Family History Society.  Just log on to their website!

London and Middlesex / Daniel Booth 1850-1

Hi Folks
My 2xGt. Grandfather, Daniel Booth entered Westminster Workhouse in December 1950 because he was ill.  He died 12th January, 1851.  I have tried finding his death on the GRO index to no avail.  I think he either wasn't registered by the workhouse or he was missed off the index.
Can anyone tell me how I could find out if either of the above is right?  How can I obtain a certificate?

Hi Folks
I have checked out the Mariner records and the fact that it said Daniel Booth died in August 1839.  I worried about the date of the last voyage of 12/2/1840.  Apparently the date is when the crew list was filed on the return of the vessel.  The master had to file a crew list etc when the vessel returned to port.
Daniel was still alive when Henry was baptised on 4th September 1839 and therefore it could not have been him.  I have also tried to buy a certificate for a death of a Daniel Booth in Leeds in December 1840 only to find it pertained to a two year old child.
Still searching!

I have tried looking for a remarriage as that would have been feasible as you say - but not that I have found.
She would have been 50 when Joseph died and obviously young enough to have remarried.
