World War Two / Adopted grave of Frederick White
« on: Tuesday 28 December 21 21:26 GMT (UK)  »
Dear People of Rootschat,

Last year I adopted the grave of Frederick White.

I have some trouble locating his family, all I know is the information I have is from the wargraves committee and the cwgc.

Is there anyone here with more information or maybe some help finding his relatives.

I know he was married to Hazel Joan White of Walpole Highway Cambridgeshire and his parents were Albert and Mary White.

He was from the 621 Field sqn, Royal Engineers and died on 5 February 1945 aged 25.

His service number is: 1922883.

At this point I am completely stuck in my research.

Any help would be kindly appreciated!

Kind regards,
David van Coolwijk

I was mailed by a relative of Crawford last week, his grandfather was the nephew of sgt. Crawford.

He has sent me this photo, I believe we have a match!

The bottom photo is the photo I already had, cropped from a group photo.

Dear all,

I am looking for relatives of John Kenneth Mansley from Atherton Lancashire.

I have been searching for almost a year now, without any result. I mostly posted requests in local facebook groups but nobody seems to know the family.

I am looking for relatives for the Lancaster ED706 Memorial Almere  in the Netherlands where for the first time a memorial service was held at the monument of the crash on May 1st 1943.

All crew members on board were killed and we want their story to be told!

I have been able to locate the other 6 relatives of the crew, but not the relatives of Sgt. Mansley.

Is there anyone here who can help me find out?

Here's a link to our website: http://lancastered706memorial.nl/

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

David van Coolwijk

Hi,

That is a very nice build! I have not been able to find a Halifax with Merlins, let alone the right tail!

Anyways, thank you for links to those websites. I am already in contact with the webmaster of zzairwar, because we are trying to locate where the missing air man may have been buried. We are getting cloase to that.

The link to my website is an old one, I will adjust that. It is now:

https://www.halifaxmonumentmuiden.nl/

There is also a facebookpage: https://www.facebook.com/HalifaxMuiden/

The reveal date for the monument will be May 1st 2020, we had some setbacks because of some permit troubles...
