Thanks for the responses all.

I have put in a request for a clearer image if possible, but as you say, it may be a while before I see it.
However, there does seem to be a reasonable consensus regards the number of children living or deceased, with maybe the only doubt being whether its 2 or 3 boys living.

This is an image of part of an 1855 birth.   Specifically it's the column with the parents marriage date and place and then the details of other children from the marriage.  I think I can get some of it, but would appreciate if anyone can pick out anything more.

So far I think the marriage is 1838, Co Donegal. 
The children details ...
3 boys and ? girls living
? boys and 1 girl deceased

As far as I can ascertain, there may have been 8 children living or dead at this time.

I am looking at getting my fathers WW2 medals mounted in a frame with his photo.  I think I have sorted out the order, alignment and having the sovereigns head facing out.  For the name plate, is there a proper sequence for persons details or is it just personal choice ?

A letter for the MOD has it shown as Serial No, Rank, Name, Regiment,  but the medal box labels have it as Rank, Name, Serial no.

Thank you for the replies and links.    I would never have thought of "Schipka Pass".   Had never heard of it, but must have walked past it many times as a young boy !  I found the blog with the walk down Gallowgate and the Valuation Rolls.    As you say, Number 5 was a lodging house which would make sense with the other info I have.   Looking at the photos on the blog, although now demolished, I think it was on the southern side of Gallowgate where St Andrews Lane is now situated.

I have a death registration for someone who dies in Barnhill Poorhouse, Garngadhill but I cannot discern what their usual address was from the record.   It looks like Shiplea Pass ???   Any ideas ?

Also, where would the burial likely be for a death in that area.  It would be a non catholic burial.

The monumental sculptor Garngad mentioned is T McGowan and Sons.  Tel for the St Kentigerns portacabin is 0141 946 2429.  Very helpful lady there most days.  She told me recently that there is now only one work team covering all the Glasgow City Council cemeteries.

Not been on the forum lately so only just read this.   You can sometimes locate a lair or at least the approx. location using the map https://www.glasgowfamilyhistory.org.uk/ExploreRecords/Documents/St%20Kentigerns%20Cemetery%20Plan.pdf .   You will know the section number from the info I sent you.  If you visit the cemetery again and find the section, have a close look at some headstones down near their base or on the sides.  You sometimes find the lair reference number is inscribed.   They are usually in sequence, tho not always, so you can narrow down the location within the section.   Even if no stone exists, you can get a reasonable fix on where the lair is.   

You can also contact the cemeteries dept and they will locate it for you, but may charge a fee.
