Thanks for the info John, I will check those on family search.org as they have images of some of the old certificates on now. Only discovered them a few days ago, that's were I got Joseph's marriage cert from.

Lizdb I think you have cracked it, one of the witnesses on his marriage certificate was Betsy Lord. Thankyou so much.

Just looked at his marriage certificate, in 1857 when he married Ann his father Joseph was still alive. Joseph b1832 was from wardlethorpe Rochdale.

Lancashire / Joseph Lord b1832 Rochdale

Hi I am looking for the parents of Joseph Lord b 1832c in Rochdale. Father is Joseph too but cannot find anything in the 1841 census .The Joseph born in 1832 married Ann Kenion / Kenyon in 1857 and only had one child called Joseph b 1860. Joseph 1832 died in 1887 aged 55 yrs, he was a painter.
If anyone could find his parents that would be great.

Thankyou kall,  it's a mystery, it's the right birthdate, right mother's name, she was also a winder. It's my partner's grandmother on his mum's side and he said she wasn't on the wedding photo of his mam and dad so presumed she died before 1939 as her husband Alfred was in Canterbury in 1939 with his daughter and son in law, no Emily with him. I've ordered a cert from the GRO, I just hope it's the right one.

Just a quick question Karen, did it say how old Emily was as she was Lord by birth and she married a Lord so will still have the same name. Did it state she was single.

Thanks
