Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Wilkinson 1881 & 1891 census

Hi I have found a James W Wilkinson and wife Lydia with children and a mother in law Caroline Wilkinson on the 1901 census in East Retford Notts. James was born 1873/74 in Retford. I am trying to find him and his parents on the 1881 and 1891 census but nothing is coming up. It says his mum Caroline was born in Bolsover Derbyshire C1866. Nothing is coming up for the 1911 census either. It says Caroline is widowed on the 1901 census. Lydia's maiden name was Saxilby.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / George Arthur Thompson B 1941

Hi i am posting this for a friend. George Arthur Thompson was her nannas brother, he was placed in Dr Barnardos in Hull around 1953/54 after his mother died. They were later told he had been shipped to Australia either for adoption or he was adopted before he went. There seems to be a bit of confusion as she was told the home was on Holderness rd but when i checked it was on Beverley rd and was called Open every Door and closed in 1951. Does anyone have info on any other Dr Barnardos homes around Hull for this period of time.

Australia / George Arthur Thompson

I am trying to locate a George Arthur Thompson born England 1941, mothers maiden name Adams. As far as I know he was put into Dr Barnardo's home at Hull England after his mum died. He was sent out to Australia for adoption whilst he was very young. I have searched the Australian archives passenger lists and there was a Master George Arthur shipped out in 1947 to Fremantle on the Esperance Bay ship. It does not give his age but the address he was sent to was Bath Street, Manjimup WA. I don't know if this was the address of the adoptees as there was another little girl going to the same address. He will be in his 70's by now and a possibility he could have passed on. George was my grandma's brother and she spent years trying to find him, I made her a promise before she died that I would try and find what happened to him. If anyone has any info I would be very grateful.

Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / whitbank cottage, Gosmore census

Hi i am trying to find who used to live in my son in laws cottage through the census. I have tried without any success. It has been there for at least 200yrs. Its called Whitbank, Maydencroft Lane, Gosmore, Herts. It could have been called something else in the early days.
Any info very welcome. I have no names of who lived their previously.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Lancaster bombers factory Doncaster

Hi, can anyone tell me where the factory was in Doncaster where they used to rivet the panels for the Lancaster bombers during the war. I was watching women at war and a lady from Lincolnshire said she used to work there during the war putting rivets in the panels. She also said it was a very large factory. Name and area would be brilliant. Finningley aerodrome may be a clue but not sure.

Hi everyone, I am trying to find a death of Thomas Grigor who was born 1923 in Urray, Ross and Cromarty .Parents were John Grigor and Mary Sutherland. I have found his birth in Scotlands People but there is nothing coming up for his death. He was my mums brother and she used to say he died when he was about 16 yrs old of heart trouble. I don't know where else to search .

Hi I am trying to find a marriage for Ernest Tippet born in Guernsey around 1911 givevand take a few years. I know he was married then presumably divorced with a daughter. He married my aunty Johan Sutherland later on but we cannot find a marriage for them anywhere. As far as I know they were living in London but I am beginning to think they weren't married after all.

Hi looking for a marriage in Sydney in 1964 between Ronald Walter Mount and Dorothy Ada Gallagher. Don't know what suburb or any other details. I have just recieved Ronald'sdeath cert after years of trying to find him. He would have been 38 yrs old when he married Dorothy according to the cert.
