Albany Memorial Park Cemetery is of significant interest for several reasons. Some
of which are that is was the first consecrated cemetery in Western Australia and that Albany attracted people from many different parts of the world. It has been
estimated that there are in the vicinity of 5000 graves in this cemetery. The
significance of Memorial Park has seen the cemetery added to the Heritage Council
of W. Australia register in 2003.

Burials have been performed for people born in W. Australia, South Australia,
Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Ireland,
Wales, United States of America, Italy, France, Norway, Latvia, Germany, China,
South Africa and several other countries. Burials have been performed for people
that died at sea, Sumatra and other parts of Australia.

Good afternnon everyone ... I have a bit of a brickwall that I need some assistance with please :)

I have a Gavin STEWART who married 29.5.1917 an Agnes KENNEDY  they are thought to have come from Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.  If anyone could shed some light on the parentage, birth and marriage place it would be wonderful.

MOTTERSHEAD, Agnes and Margaret baptised in Manchester both came to Australia in 1864 aboard the HASTINGS.  According to the marriage certificate of Agnes her father's name was John and his occupation was a hawker.

I am looking for assistance to locate information concerning a Henry SMITH an officer of the British Army.
He had a son Samuel born c 1836 in Birmingham Warwickshire. Some time around 1851 Samuel ended up in Australia.

I have a Frances KEAN who appears to be from Wicklow and born around 1836.  She was a member of the Church of Scotland.  Frances arrived in Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) Australia aboard the Woodcote in 1856 having taken up an offer for the Bounty Immigration scheme.

These two ladies have created a lot of difficulty for me in terms of family history!!! ... Martha appears on some birth records as being Martha BURNS FAGAN (she married Thomas SMITH in Australia)

FEGAN, Martha b approx 1789 convicted in 1815 in Dublin, Ireland transported to Australia arrived aboard the AlexanderII in 1816.

KEAN, Frances b approx 1836 from Wicklow, Ireland arrived Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) Australia aboard the Woodcote in 1856.  The Woodcote carried 'Bounty Immigrants' to Australia.  Frances KEAN was sponsored by Samuel Cogden. (Frances married Samuel SMITH son of Martha and Thomas)

DAY, James b approx 1808 arrived Western Australia aboard the Eliza in 1832.

CHEATHAM, Sarah Ann b approx 1810 arrived in Western Australia aboard the Protector 1830.

KEAN, Frances b approx 1836 from Wicklow, Ireland arrived Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) Australia aboard the Woodcote in 1856.  The Woodcote carried 'Bounty Immigrants' to Australia.  Frances KEAN was sponsored by Samuel Cogden.
