Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Re: Burials in Upham
« on: Friday 01 March 24 16:31 GMT (UK)  »
Winifred was buried in Upham 26 November 1795.  No indication that she was a widow unfortunately.

There are gaps in the PR records available online and I can find nothing in the indexes that I have for the period 1775 onwards for William.

I note that the witnesses at the marriage of Anne and Philip were not named Moulton or any variant.

I would assume it is catholic even without the name of the church.  The record is in Latin, which is what the Catholic church used for their records.

mac77782,

Congratulations on managing to trace your family history back to the 13th century in such a short period.  Not everyone is so lucky, certainly not me.

Manners are an important part of the community of RootsChat.  There is a wide range of opinions expressed here.  We may not always agree with each other, but that is no excuse for abusing those with whom you disagree.

You mention that you are appalled at the posts on here.  But you did choose to join.  What a shame that your first and only contribution so far was to have a rather impolite and discourteous rant!

Best wishes

The Common Room / Re: Publishing a finding from research
« on: Tuesday 06 February 24 14:54 GMT (UK)  »
Have you thought of approaching any of the family history societies to see if they might consider publishing your findings as an article?

Or the Society of Genealogists?

Is it possible that the editing team of the ODNB might be interested in your findings so that it might be included in the next edition?  I believe the editing process is on-going as new information or research may well come to light

I think there may be a bit of a mix up somewhere with the dates.

Ann Tubb aged 62 buried Old Basing 21 May 1823
George Tubb aged 58 buried Old Basing 12 June 1821.

George's father may have been another George Tubb, but there are other possibilities.

Like nannyjan, I can't see a death registration for Anne Tubb in 1839

If the trees are correct (pinch of salt required unless there is official confirmation) then she was born 1777.

I don't think this can be correct, since it would make her only 7 when she married George.

Added: where and when was their daughter born, please?

Have you contacted the newspaper itself?  There is a 'contact' button on that page.

I did try scrolling back to the appropriate date but it didn't find the article  :(

It was the Duchess of Marlborough House, a maternity hospital and part of the Royal Free Hospital - see here (scroll down at bit to find the relevant section):
