Yes, the will of Rosina May Price confirms her daughter as Irene Maude Harris. Both living at 19 Woodlands Rd. Sonning Common in 1973. Rosina died on 27th Nov 1977.

I am researching the military history of Hubert Ernest De Burgh born 1889. I have a record card for him showing his discharge from the Argyl and Sutherland highlanders regt. on 7/6/18. The card shows disabilities:GSH (orW?) Rt leg (amp) and an address of Hellens much markle nr Ledbury.
Does anyone have any experience of reading these cards? I presume that the Hubert had all or part of his right leg amputated, what does GSH mean? I presume that Hellens means Hellens manor which stands today, but may have been used as a hospital for army veterans. Does anyone know of any records on this establishment?
Hubert seems to have had two service postings as he is also listed as in the AVC, which I think is the Army Veterinary Corps. Would a soldier have normally transferred between posts?

Eva's will lists only two sons, one grandchild and the respective partners /spouses. The newspaper obituary for Brian Nash lists his wife, children and grandchildren.
I'm waiting for Eva's birth certificate (to confirm or otherwise her date of birth). I might then move on to the Fred Girling marriage.
Eva's will only gives two sons, the now deceased Brian and one other, who may have married , but I presume is living with another woman at the time the will was drafted. I found this son on the Curtismill electoral register and he is listed more recently with his partner as cab drivers in D****** (easy to find with Google).
I can't see how there was time for any more children to be born to Eva! The 1939 register only has one name redacted, so Brian and one other who must be a little younger than Brian. A return to London after the war in 1945, then a marriage to Fred Girling in 1956.
I don't have access to the published tree, but I presume this is a part of Eva's grand-daughter's (Sarah) family. The will shows she has married and hence is not a Nash. I don't understand Hubert E Nash at all, he should be De Burgh after all. Though I cannot find any marriage.

I now have a copy of the will of Eva Nash who died on 29 April 2006. The will is dated 24 March shortly before her death. However this Eva Nash is not the one I was searching for, her address is in Clay Cross Chesterfield. The main bequests are to her three sons, one of whom has an interesting middle name: Hartley. So this Eva might be related by marriage to Joseph W Nash (uncle to my Eva Nash) who married Emily Hartly (sept 1913 Chorlton). I will blow another £1.50 on the will of Eva Girling to see what that one shows.

I've had a good run through the electoral registers for London, from about 1937 to 1965. They mostly seem consistent with other information, such as appearance of son Brian from the 1950s and the change of name to Girling still at the same address. How old did you need to be to vote in 1950, 21 or 18? There seems to be a sudden jump from south London in the 1930s to Lewis in 1939, then a return to London in 1946. I presume this was an evacuation to safer countryside as I know that south London took a real hammering during the Blitz (several of my family were down the Tube stations every night, or evacuated to Devon). The London records are very good, but I have had no success with electoral registers for Manchester, any suggestions?
I too am beginning to think that Eva was a bit of a good time girl and that indeed there was no De Burgh marriage. At least she had the sense and perhaps support to keep the child second time around.
