Denbighshire / Lion Inn ? Llangwm
« on: Sunday 25 June 06 19:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I have just discovered that my ancestor Anne Price b 1834 Llangwm was living at the Lion Inn previous to her marriage to Hugh Lloyd b 1832 Cerrigydrudion. Does anyone know if it was in Llangwm or Cerrig and if it is still around today?
Thanks
Nerys

« on: Friday 16 June 06 17:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I have recently visited 2 cemeteries in Gwytherin and the cemetery in Pandy Tudur looking for gravestones of my MORRIS family. I had a good response, but I have since been told that there is another cemetery in Pandy Tudur, albeit a small one. does anybody out there know it's whereabouts please?
Kind Regards

 :)
Thanks for your help. I have checked the 1837online.com site and the actual volume number is 11b 269 dec 1895, it was much clearer to see than the freebmd site.

Hi Mike,
It certainly is. I keep telling my mam that I have every faith that they have married! especially since she is down as the widow of Evan Price on her death certificate, but it is puzzling. I think sarah ann is listed as living in Liverpool on the 1891 census so how they met is intrigueing. I think I'll have to find details of their first child Evan Lloyd Price born about 1895 in Ruthin to send off for his birth certificate and see what that says. Sarah Ann's father was a lay preacher, so we don't think they would have lived in sin, although it would answer a few questions of rumours that are in the family!

Hi Mike
Yes, according to 1861 Evan was 4, I have another poser here but that will wait for now!! He is listed on the 1901 England census living in poulton cum seacomb with wife sarah ann and 3 children. We know Evan was married previously in 1887 but wife died in 1891 as Evan is widowed living with his brother Griffith with a daughter Hannah Elizabeth aged 2. So even though they appear to be married in 1901 ;D, I am wondering as I can't find any record between 1892-1910.
Thanks

Denbighshire / Help/advice with marriage lookup

Hi all,
I am desperately (and it's becoming an obsession now!) to find my ggrandparents marriage record.
Evan Price b 1857 Llangwm  to Sarah Ann Roberts b 1874 Llanfair DC. They are husband and wife on the 1901 census living in England, but a child was born in 1895 Ruthin, so I have looked and looked from about 1892 onwards for marriage between them, but have come up with nothing. On my grandfather's b.certificate, Sarah ann is down as Price, formerly Roberts and on her death cert she was widow of Evan, so how come I can't find them? They originate from teh Ruthin area and settle back at about 1902/3, living at Eyarth Farm Lodge. I have exhausted ancestry and FreeBMD and know all names back to front now. Any suggestions would be great.
Many Thanks
Nerys ;D

Hi Celia/Pughy
;D I have just looked on the 1901 census England. John Price was living at 9 Sea View, Lower Bebington with wife Elizabeth and daughter Alice.
His brother - my ggrandfather was living at 74 Gladstone Road, Poulton cum Seacomb. with family.
I apologise as I had no idea really where poulton cum Seacomb was and got confused with Liverpool as that's where Evan's daughter Blodwen was born. so just assumed it was the same area (I am Welsh after all!!).
Anyway, any information is fascinating to me. when I started this compulsive searching, I had only 2 names to go on, Evan Price and Sarah Ann nee Roberts, my ggrandparents. My mam didn't know much more. When the last reli died, my mam can recall someone from Bebington attending the funeral, but didnt pay much attention at the time, so we probably have loads of relatives still living there.
Many thanks for your time and help ;D

Hi all,
I have recently started researching my family and was surprised to note that my ggrandfather and family of 2 children moved to Liverpool probably 1896ish, they originate from North Wales, but they do move back at some point. We assume he moved to find work, but what sort of work was available in Pulton at that time? He also puzzled us as he aged himself about 7 years younger than what he was on the 1901 census! His name : Evan Price, wife Sarah Ann, Children, Hannah Elizabeth, Evan Lloyd and Blodwen Price, born in poulton 1896.
I have also discovered that his brother John Price, born 1854 Llangwm North Wales is also listed on the England 1901 census, living in Bebington, any informaton on this little place will be received with interest.
Many thanks ;D

« on: Friday 31 March 06 23:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
i am trying to solve a puzzle regarding my ggrandfather William Blore b 1867. When I came to view his gravestone, his surname was Bloor along with his wife Ann b 1873, however their daugher Hannah's birth cert was definitely Blore, how can this change occur?? It has caused many a headache!
Many thanks
