I have a Dinah/Diana Drayton im my tree. She was born in the Caistor district, not sure if any connection?

Also, despite me being a Yellowbelly, I now reside in Anstey!

Don't know if it's significant, or not, but there was a David T Bedells, born Grantham in 1941, mmn Dawson.....possibly the son of the shop owner on Dudley Road ?.....Thomas F Bedells married Dorothy M Dawson 1939 at Grantham....

Thomas F. Bedells was the brother of Arthur E.

Is the shop the one that turned into a newsagents and then closed not long after?

Sorry I mean her parents and grandparent etc my cousin asked ne to look in our church yard to find them

I also got mixed up, Shiela was my grandmother's sister!

Her parents:

Arthur E. Bedells & Sarah E. Brewster

Arthur - Henry Bedells & Charlotte Smart
Sarah - George T. Brewster & Louisa Issac

Henry - William Bedells & Mary Slator
Charlotte - John T. Smart & Clara Chantry

George - Thomas Brewster & Mary Dennis
Louisa - Robert Isaac & Sarah Eldridge

William Bedells is my current brick wall. I have him down as 1831 (b) and he is on the censuses 1851 - Nottingham, 1861 - Nottingham, 1871 - Grantham, 1881 - Grantham, death - 1888.

on each census he gave a different birthplace. I have a book about the Bedells family tree and the author came to the conclusion that William was the son of another William and born in Leicester, I have yet to find evidence to back this up

I wonder if this is the same Mr. Bedells that had the secondhand furniture shop, on Dudley Road, Grantham...he had a son called David I think.....

It's not, Arthur E. was my grandfather, he never owned a shop. Quite interesting that the shop was owned by a Bedells though as I grew up on that road

Hi,

I can help as Shiela was my grandmother's sister and I used to go and visit her. I am still in touch with her children and grandchildren.

I'm leaning towards Sleaford as the father on the baptism is a William Barnes and Thomas & Sarah's first son was named William

Hi,

I have a brick wall:

Thomas Barnes (1754 - 1817) married Sarah Fardell (1759 - ) on 10/07/1783

I'd like to go back further than Thomas but come up with two possible baptisms in a 20 mile radius of Rippingale (nothing appears before that - I'm using FindMyPast).

Branston, Leicestershire
Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Does anyone have any connections to these?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm currently researching the Barnes family (Rippingale). Thomas and Sarah (Fardell) are my Great x5 grandparents. I'm pleased that I have just found this post, albeit 12 years later  ;D How far did you get back with them? I'm currently stuck at Thomas & Sarah.

Thanks,
Pez
