hi pal,

thank you so much for your pm.

i have looked for the summers connection and think it may go back to the helen robertson connection as there was no summers before hand.

have found that helen's parents were david robertson and ann edwards who married 30/4/1839.

will try and source more detail

hi sandy pal,

let me humbly apologise to your good self for not getting back to you in regards to your post. it has been a wee while since i have used this website due to work commitment.

also i would like to welcome you to rootschat, a wonderful resource to have at your fingertips, always having a helping hand out there.

the mcgourlick name is wonderful to research.since my posts i have done more research and found that the family came from fermanagh.

as the late christopher said there is not a lot of them about, i believe they are all related in someway.

Fantastic dazey,

you have now given me his parents and siblings, you have opened up a new avenue for me to explore, can you see the family on any other census?

by the looks of things absolom and sarah married around 1869, so it would be nice to find them in 1881, i will go and check if i can find them.

i presume absolom went to brighton looking for work from yorkshire.

hi dazey,

wow! brilliant, big thank you. a few children i did not know about. how did you manage to find them so quickly?

i have rose as the daughter of william and susan akehurst and have found them on the census, 1861 and 1871. i can see that rose is a servant in 1881 but for the life of me i cannot trace thomas anguige back at all!!!

can you see him in any earlier censuses?
