the trail from winifred and a marriage goes to a son frederick davies b 1904 in new york.
this is brilliant detective work all. as to me it looks like winifred was maurice jones born as you say 1856. and the father of maurice in roberts b abt 1820. in the 1841 census robert looks to be in Llanrhaiadr with his father henry and mother margaret.

does this check out with you guys please. thank you again.avril

hello. looking for the parents of Maurice Jones born Bryn Eglwys abt 1855. in the 1881 census he seems to be in Bryn-Eglwys (Denbigh) married to Elizabeth b 1860 in merionethshire and daughter winifred. and do you think the birth age for winifred is correct born 1881, but i thought it may be around 1877 winifred married john davies who gives his birth as 1871 but we are not sure or of where the marriage was. think you Avril

hi. i see a possible army record for an ancestor thomas pritchard. he was born in 1782 in oswestry and married in oswestry in 1804. first child thomas 1805 d 1806. second child 1807. no other children found until george in 1814 b just over the border in wales. i think the gap could be because he was in the peninsular war. and one of the moderators Garsonite on roots chat found a record in 1811.
