OK Allycat here is you answer.  The MARRINER gravestone is a large polished black one. The mirror surface made photographing it difficult.  Across the top is the name MARRINER and flower  motifs decorate the sides. The inscription reads ELLEN MAVIS died 29. 5. 84 aged 73 years CHARLES MAYNARD died 19. 8. 84 aged 76 years. At the bottom a further inscription  “Loved parents of all their families”. A photograph of each of them is affixed to the stone and it was surrounded by plastic flowers. Did not see any other Marriner headstones but I noted there were a few of them in the Waikato telephone book. I will get the photos I took posted thru rootschat as soon as I can.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Anyone going to Huntly Cemetery, New Zealand?
« on: Thursday 01 June 06 07:01 BST (UK)  »
Hi Allycat. Although I live in Christchurch I am travelling to Hamilton this weekend for a family wedding. Part of my plans are to call into the Huntly cemetery because my HUNTER gt grandparents are buried there. I will keep a lookout for Marriner for you but there may not be a headstone to view. The cemetery is administered by the Waikato District Council who keep the register. They sent me a map which shows the location of my gt grandparents and will have similar details re your man. Google will find them for you. They were very helpful to me. Will let you know how I get on.
