Hi Brian
Heres a bit of information for you to have a look at , I don't  know if are how they might be connected to our Jennings/Swift . But take a look .

1881 census
We know that The Jennings are living at 10 Magnesia Bank .
Next door at number 8 Magnesia Bank are the Swifts .
Steven Swift Head aged 60 , Born Ireland Labourer
Mary Swift wife aged 48 Ireland
Marten Swift Son aged 20 Ireland
Patrick Swift Son aged 18 Ireland.

Also at Number 3 magnesia Bank 1881

Thomas Swift aged 50 Ireland Labourer
Sarah Swift Wife aged 40 Ireland
Sarah J Swift daughter aged 18, North Shields, Factory Worker.
Mary A Swift Daughter , North Shields , aged 11.
Marten Swift Son aged 7, North shields.

I have also found.

Thomas Swift aged 30 a lodger born Ireland living at 79 Bell Street .This is according to the 1851 Census. I know our Jennings didn't come to England until about 1865 but they had attempted a crossing before then .

There is also a Martin Swift aged 26, Ireland , Living at 69 Ropery stairs.
Sarah Swift aged 24
Thomas Swift aged 60.
This is according to the 1861 census.

As i have already said wether there is a connection to our Mary Jennings nee Swift i don't know .
Maybes you could ask about and see what you can come up with .
I would really like some help with this one.

Thanks Lucia

Hi
I am looking for information regarding the Meredith family .
The information that i already hold is .

Anne Mary Meredith 1843 Born Mile End London
Married a Charles Mudge Churchward of Staverton Devon.

Anne had two brothers , Henry Cook Meredith 1850 i think born London .
George Joseph Meredith 1840 Stephney , London .

I know that Anne's mother was also called Anne Born 1808 Shoreditch , London . Could her maiden name be cook ? as one of her sons has the middle name Cook .

Anne 1808 married to Mr Meredith was the wife of a seaman .

I would love to find out his first name , and also information going further back on his family .

I have found Anne 1808 living with her family on the 1861 census living with her family at Westoe/ south shields/ County Durham in those days .

Annie Mary 1843 went on to marry . Thomas Thewlis of North Shields . Northumberland in those days , Tyne and Wear now .

I hope i haven't confused anyone ,

Any help would be fantastic and i would be very grateful .

Regards Lucia :)

Hi Michael

Thanks For your info .

Jonathan Swift 1667- 1745 was also Insane in his last Yrs , So fingers crossed That there is no connection .  :o

When i said i expected a name more Irish what  i meant  was a name sounding  more Irish , Like Kelly or Kerrigan .

Thanks again
