For Sale / Wanted / Events / Offering County Kildare Guided Genealogy Tours
« on: Thursday 18 March 10 11:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Everyone, searching for Roots in Kildare, are you thinking of coming all the way to Kildare in Ireland and perhaps the Athy area to search for your family history/burials etc? then come prepared, a lot of tourists come to Athy and other surrounding towns to search only to find having come such a long way and spent so much money and they arrive in the town with no way of reaching the outlying villages-churches- burial grounds or places where the records are held. I am offering a day or more if you prefer, guided tours of the areas of your interest to parties from one to three people.
The tour will include compiling a list of places you will need to visit taken from your information gathered on your family in the areas of interest. PM me for any other queries or information

For Sale / Wanted / Events / Now offering Genealogy Tours
« on: Tuesday 11 August 09 14:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi All and hope moderators it is ok to post this one here ?
I have been helping gen tourists for a few years in the Kildare, Laois, Carlow areas and have discovered there is a need for a Genealogy Tour service in these areas as most people who come over to a particular town find themselves stranded without transport and not able to get to, or indeed find the places they need to to continue their research. The service would include some research before hand on my behalf to find relevant churches, old homesteads, cemetries and of course respositries for local records that would be relevant to the searcher.

As  I have recently become unemployed I thought it the perfect time to offer the service to anyone wanting to make the most of their precious searching time in these areas and would be delighted to provide a guide, and transport service if you want to send me a private message, regards Damsel

Dublin / RootsChat 'Dublin Meet'
« on: Thursday 14 June 07 12:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi all you lovely Rootschatters, I was just chatting to Christopher about the meet and thought it would be great if he had an idea of exactly how many people are definitly travelling to Dublin for it, and have booked already etc, it would make organising a venue for the Friday night easier if he has definite numbers, so would you all be so kind as to add your name here only as a reply to this post as the topic seems to be scattered around the boards and its giving me a headache trying to figure it all out  dont know about anyone else giggles !!  if your a definite let him now so we can get organising, look forward to meeting you all, Celtic Damsel  ;D
