Hi only way is to try Ancestry, but beware he might not be in their collection as a lot of the records were destroyed during ww2.

Hi done a bit of digging.  Finally found a Pvt. Frederick James Parsons 4163, Royal Warwickshire Regiment.  It probably a mistake as at that time recruits were flooding in, so no doubt the medical officer was a bit confused and over worked lol.  Found this on the National Archive site, it will cost 2 to download.  It will tell you when he went into a particular theatre of war, also the medals he was entitled to.

Hope this clears things up.

Hi, Ive just a quick look on the National Archive site it lists two possibles,

1. West York Regiment 204186, Royal West Kent L/13750

2. Training Reserve Bttn. TR/24907

Your uncle more than likely died during the Battle of Amiens, when the allies forced back the Germnas gains earlier in the year.

Thanks for all the information.  I've picked up quite a few direct rellies.  I didn't have their death dates.  My Quinns came from Donegal, and settled in Airdrie around 1890 ish.

Toy(e), Michael and Annie Quinn, Mary Devan and David and Fanny Hendry and Thomas and Mary Fagin

I know that my paternal grandparents and ggrandparents are buried here.
