Hello all,

We have just unearthed a long forgotten photo album that belonged to my great grandmother Alice Collin nee Thompson, which my aunt had at her house. I was wondering if anyone could touch up the below photographs of my Great Grandmother Alice Thompson born 1908 Islington, London and her husband my Great Grandfather George Dobson Collin born 1909 Carlisle. George Dobson Collin served in WW2 and was imprisoned in the prisoner of war camp XXI-A Schildberg, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.

My dad has taken these photos on his phone, as I live quite away I haven't been able to get a proper scan of the photos and it will be a long time before I'm able to do so.

Many thanks for any help you could provide

I think I have found Thomas, Harriet and their children Alice, Edward and George entering the Islington workhouse in February 1871

It is there on FindMyPast.
I believe you can purchase just the one image if you don’t have an account.

Thank you, I tried to see if I could purchase the image but only gave me the option to buy the transcript for 50p. I’m going to visit the local library and download the image from there.

The entry you want is on Folio 30 page 53, which appears to be missing from Ancestry. The entries jump from page 52 to page 54.

Ahh thank you, that is a shame.

Hello all,

I have found my 3x Great Uncle on the below census record on Family Search. I've been trying to find the corresponding record on Ancestry to see the actual image but I've been unable to find it. I'm assuming it's been badly transcribed. I've tried using the Piece/Folio numbers to search but to no avail. Any help greatly appreciated.

I do have DNA connections to George Thompson on my Ancestry Thru Lines. I am new to DNA so I don't know how helpful this is or not.

Where are Thomas and Harriet Thompson in 1861 and 1871?

1861 census ?POSSIBLE? Cross St, Westminster St James, Middlesex
P65/F70/p45

Plus point - Thomas' occupation of Waiter and his age matches the occupation and age of 'minor' on the marriage
Unsure point - His wife is recorded as Mary rather than Harriet but is a ?possible? as her middle name was Mary and her age of 16 certainly means a match for her being a minor on the marriage record

Boo

Yes I though this was also possible.
I've also found a Harriet 'Leveridge' on the 1861 census as a servant however states unmarried and she was married by this point.
