Hi
i know my g grandmother Matilda Gertrude Gleadell/Gleadle was in the Gainsborough work house for the 1891 census (Gertrude Gleadhill age 10). and was married and living  in Halifax by the 1901 census (Gertrude Webster age 20). i would love to know when she went in how long she stayed in there and  when and how she left and ended up in halifax. i wondered if anyone had access to the workhouse records to see what it says (if anything). Her Mum Emma Died 1877 and she was never married.
                     many thanks

Hi Matilda

You mention Newland House nr Hemingbrough in the 1841 census. In that census my great-great grandparents, Edward and Jane Jenkinson were farming at NH. At the time they had two children, Charles and Sarah...my great-grandfather John was born later. Be pleased to hear from you.

Allan
hi Allan,
im afraid i know nothing else about there time there. they got married in december 1841, Jane of full age Charles as a minor. charles was down as a servant in husbandry. witnesses george ward and william newham. they first child doesnt seem to be born until 1843. by 1851 Charles was in north difford. would love to no if there is anything you could add,
                    Matilda
