Thank you Sinann, now to try to find the family mentioned! Are there any more recent Irish BMDs online, after 1950s? That's as late as I can find.

Thanks very much for that. Can anyone suggest another way to find Margaret's parents? I match with some Costellos on Ancestry DNA, but they haven't got enough info on their trees for me to work out the link.

Thanks very much. Was it common for marriages not to be registered? Or would they not have been married at all? Common with my English side, but I don't know about in Ireland!

Kind regards

Galway / Where else to look for a marriage?

Hello

I am trying to find the marriage of Lawrence/Laurence Burke and Margaret Costello. In the 1911 census it says they have been married 9 years. This seems correct as I can find Lawrence on his own in the 1901, but no further record of Margaret anywhere. She is my brickwall. I only know her surname is Costello from the children's birth records. They lived in Nutgrove or Feebrack, Tynagh. No record of them on the Irish Genealogy website.

Sorry I am quite new to the Irish side of Genealogy.
Kind regards, Samantha

Not sure if mine is accurate, it just says North Munster and mine were from Portumna area. Strangely, my mum's says North Munster, North Tipperary, East Limerick and East Clare!

Hi Sinann

Thanks for your reply. I've searched on there but can't find anyone that fits. I'm in England, so it's difficult to find out much info. Do you think it would be worth contacting the church attached to the graveyard (if there is one)? Also, is it usual in Ireland for a deceased person to be named on the family headstone if they aren't buried there?
Thanks
