Thank you Barbara, goodness me no wonder I had such trouble finding them!!!  How did you manage to find them with such a variety of spellings?  Could you also tell me how I might go about getting a copy of Henrys birth certificate please?  The Canadian branch will be amazed that you have all found this info for us.   Many thanks.

Thanks Jocelyn, that matches my record so you have now given me the wife who matches my Henry. 

I have to say that you have all been wonderful jumping to my aid, the Canadian branch of the family have tried for over a year to find this info, with no success, and I was not travelling very far in my own searches!  I'm researching from Australia and I'm still finding my way around some of these sites, so I appreciate the time and effort you're all putting in on my behalf.

Thanks for all your efforts Barbara, I really appreciate it.  This last posting fits into the info I have been given.  I am told that he was an Architect and Surveyor and built bridges.  He left England when one of his structures in Bath collapsed.

I have Henry married to Harriet Elfreda Hickes (no maiden name) born Bath, England 29 July 1833.  The family left England for Canada and arrived Montreal 5 August 1884.  Henry died in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada on 23 April 1887.  I'm told  that Henry and his brother were surveyors in England but don't have the brothers name!  Thanks for all your help Graham.

I am searching for a birth record of Henry William Hickes born London, England on 20 Oct 1831.  Unfortunately this is the only information that I have.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
