Hi,

Would anyone be able to look up the marriage details for Spence Grubb & Violet Isabella Buchan in 1938 at St Giles Edinburgh City. I am particularly interested in the full name of Spence Grubb's father.

Hi Sancti,

Yes I think he did get married in Edinburgh in 1938. It's Spence (sometimes recorded as Spencer) Grubb's parents I'm really trying to track down. There are three marriages in Dysart for the period 1901-1911; James Grubb to Elizabeth Leitchman in 1905,Christopher Grubb to Jane Yeaman in 1906 & James Grubb to Maggie Garrity in 1911. Any of these could have been Spence's parents as he was born in 1911. I think I might just have to wait until Jan 1912 when, hopefully,I should be able to access his B/C via the Scotlandspeople website.

Hi,

Wondered if anyone can help. Am trying to track down the the grandfather of a friend for him. His grandfather's name was Spence Grubb & I think he was born in 1911 in Dysart,Fife. He probably died in 1941 in Westminster,London. I am trying to trace the names of his parents so that I can go backwards from that point.Have just spent £7.00 on the Scotlandspeople website but I don't think that I can trace Spence or his parents unless I order the B/C - another £12.00!! Any thoughts (I still have 29 credits left if anyone knows how I can trace Spence's parents).

Hi Gnu,

Thanks so much for that. Wonder why he changed his name? I really appreciate your help. What an intriguing family.
