NO I havent  but I am not sure if he was at sea or at home .... he was from Poole St. James Dorset... my father always thought he was from Devon and I found he wasnt lived at Devon nothing matches his name and parents ... he is not on the record in familysearch org. but sister and brother was...due to his mother family all from Dorset the Hescroff mariners which I know about...for a few years ..his father died in 1834 before his younger brother was born...  mother and father married for 4 years... I think its not a long marriage life for men back then usually I can see by looking up family history that the men died or other things happen... Robert William mother was Elizabeth Hescroff and she never remarried again.....if you can see in 1851 census can you tell me as I dont have proper access to it as I can only go on the free ones... cheers  and thanks Jenn for your message...

cheers Kathleen... :D ;D

Hello tropicalj

thanks for your answer... smiles.  and yes I know the details about the birth of Ann and Robert's children but but not the marriage in SA which its a big mystery in the records.. not available. ( Ann's death cert. shows remarried) but where is the  Mystery eh... Ann was living in Kapunda and Robert who knows what but working as sa railway plate layer. but where to? and how they met? Thats is what I am trying to find... looks like I have to do a seance with the Ouija board smiles to get the informations of this... I know they lived at Mt Gambier SA for 20 years till his death and bit after till after 1910 when kids moved to the city for work..I dont know if they couldnot afford to pay for the marriage  as I have records that the Salvos helped them alot and wondered if they have the records of the un registered marriage records ?

I found a marriage of Robert Bartlett and Margaret McDonald or something like that in approx 1860 but she died  in 1868c (Victoria records) not clear yet as I have it in record book but I cant find it... I wondered if there been any children from that marriage?  I am mainly want to know about the mooresfort and if there is a way to see if Salvos have records?

Ann Lucy Dobson... gave all the details to my grandfather record of birth  with all the surnames while all the other children has Dobson... I  really think that she knows it will find it handy someday and thats how I been researching details and I found out more on her side in UK just recently with the Johnson.. wow lots of skeletons in the closet.. ;D... smiles.  ::) ;D

if you can help I would be so happy to hear more cheers from your internet friend smiles,  Kathleen...

Hi all......Do any one have crews list of the Mooresfort (UK ship ) as I am looking for my merchant navy - great grandfather Robert William Bartlett name on the list as he was the first mate on that suppose ship... in 1854 in Victoria. his name is not on the passenger list as I have tried..

my father was told he had to leave the ship due to all the crews jumped ship and  Robert and the captain stayed on ship till the captain was unable to pay him one month ...then Robert left the ship  later went to gold mines and follow on to South East of South Australia and till 1892 his death...  I wonder how long before the Mooresfort stayed in Australia till it went back to UK then it did came back again at the later years till I see it online 1879

He married to Ann Dobson in 1878 and  I wonder if he was married before Ann as she came out in 1876... can anyone help ??

cheers Kathleen.

Hi JJ... I know you dont want to know but I tell you shot through is what I meant is Alfred left his wife with family  at  home while he trying to run back to UK ...  I found the passenger list in the ship list   by google  with his and hers name but not clear of the kids though....  I was hoping someone kind  enough could go to the archives and find it for me as I am in Australia... oh dear..
smiles.

cheers  Kathleen.

And about George Foxton... well he was born in 1831   and his father ? so all I know was George wasnt given the share of the cotton farm millling?  Dad told me that he was the younger son and he had few older brothers so I dont know much ...that why he left home ..went to sea and landed in Australia.... cheers..

Kathleen.
